To subdue a Divine Beast, it must first willingly submit. Second, a contract must be formed.
To form the contract, both parties must fuse their blood essence. Each then takes half the mixture and dissolves it within their own sea of consciousness vortex. Only then is the contract complete.
This is the simplest type: an Equal Contract. But Equal Contracts have a flaw! The master's life is shared with their Contracted Beast. If the beast dies in battle, the master is highly likely to be in mortal danger.
However, such a contract can be broken through certain special methods.
The three of them hoped to form a Master-Servant Contract instead. It was still a type of Soul Contract, but it established the human as the master and the beast as the servant. This way, even if the giant wolf died in battle, the master would not be harmed.
