As was his routine, Jim Cross went to the Refinement Pool to check on Lex Cross. He found that Lex, who had been in constant seclusion, was finally awake.
"Ancestor Feng, my heart… it hurts so much."
Jim Cross froze. "You…"
"I feel like I've forgotten someone very important, but I can't remember who, no matter how hard I try. Ancestor Feng, I… HISS!" Lex Cross clutched his chest, his face covered in a cold sweat. "Why? Why is my Soul Consciousness incomplete? What in the world happened?"
