As he spoke, he looked around in confusion. He soon recognized the place as the laboratory at their base, but why was he here?
Stella Sterling and Mr. Magnus watched this unfold, exchanging a glance.
Mr. Magnus called out tentatively, "Chief, is that you?"
Chief Ford looked over at him. "Who else would it be!"
Mr. Magnus was stunned once again. It looked like the Chief had come to his senses.
A look of delight flashed in his eyes, and he started to walk toward the Chief.
But then, Chief Ford's expression suddenly twisted in pain. He clutched his head and cried out.
The red that had just faded from his eyes crept back in.
His earlier confusion vanished, replaced by a bloodlust as he charged at the two of them.
Mr. Magnus was horrified. "What's happening? Wasn't the Chief back to normal just now?"
He dodged out of the way while Stella Sterling watched from the side, her brow furrowed.
Seeing that Stella Sterling hadn't moved, Chief Ford instantly switched his target to her.
