The two of them didn't say a word, but Chief Ford understood.
He chuckled. "Don't look at me like that, you two. I know you were both doing what's best for me. I don't blame you!"
He couldn't remember it all clearly, but he had vague impressions of his rampage.
He had lost his mind back then, unable to tell friend from foe, attacking anyone on sight.
If he hadn't been subdued, he would have only ended up hurting people.
That was the last thing he would have wanted.
So, of course, he understood why they did what they did.
Hearing Chief Ford say this, Mr. Magnus breathed a sigh of relief. Although he and the Chief were on excellent terms, a leader was still a leader.
The thought of his superior finding out what he'd done had left him feeling more than a little uneasy.
After hearing that the Chief didn't blame him in the slightest, the heart that had been lodged in his throat finally settled back into place.
