After a long moment, Olivia Wynne, breathing a little heavily, let go of Luke Chase's hand.
Luke hadn't felt it while they were running, but the moment they stopped, his legs felt like they didn't belong to him anymore. Flushed and gasping, he collapsed to the ground, gulping down huge mouthfuls of air.
Olivia rested on her feet for a moment until she caught her breath, then nudged Luke with her foot. "Get up. We're heading back."
Luke felt like he was in a dream. He was baffled. How had he managed to escape those men?
"Olivia, were you the one pulling me along just now?"
Olivia shot Luke a look. "Who else?"
Hearing this, Luke tried to get up, but he only made it halfway before collapsing to the ground again.
His legs had turned to jelly; he couldn't stand.
"How do you train? You're so fast. And so strong."
'She managed to wrench me away from a grown man. Her strength is no joke, and she's incredibly fast.'
