Embarrassingly, the handcuffs didn't move in the slightest, not even making a sound.

Glen sagged like a deflated ball, lowering his head in dismay. "Anger won't solve the problem."
Arthur, however, looked at him seriously, then at the handcuffs, and asked, "Need help?"
"Forget it, forget it!" Glen quickly waved his hands in refusal, a hint of fear on his face.

'If I really let Arthur get these handcuffs off and the Knights outside saw, wouldn't I just be in for a pointless beating?'
'No way. When it's time to back down, you've got to back down.'
Calvin leaned against the iron bars to rest. Once the tightness in his chest eased, he whispered to the Slime inside his breastplate, "Your Majesty, what should we do now?"
