"Dad, how come you have time to pick me up today?" Sidney Winters asked gently, looking at his father, Clayton Winters, who was driving.
Clayton Winters smiled faintly. "We're heading back to the Winters estate today. Your grandfather said he has something to discuss with us. He's probably at home waiting for us now."
Hearing this, the smile on Sidney Winters's face gradually faded. He decided not to ask any more questions, instead turning to gaze out the window, lost in thought.
Clayton Winters seemed to sense Sidney's indifference and gave a wry, internal smile. 'This family doesn't even feel like a family,' he thought. 'It's a place where profit comes first and kinship is an afterthought. I don't even want to go back, let alone my own son.'
After a moment's thought, Clayton Winters spoke again, voicing an idea he had considered countless times. "Sidney, have you ever thought about studying abroad?"
