Having Evelyn Grant by his side made any hardship he faced feel insignificant.
Evelyn Grant gently removed his hand.
She smiled. "Ryan Sterling, promise me one thing, okay?"
"Of course. Tell me."
"Please, stop being so subservient. Be yourself. Let's just be a normal married couple! I hate seeing you act so meek, and I don't want you to be constantly plagued by insecurity. To be honest, it hurts me to see you this way."
Ryan Sterling was taken aback. It took him a few seconds before he finally nodded.
"Okay."
"I chose you, and I'm not going to change my mind so easily. You can rest assured."
Her words instantly choked back the sentence on the tip of his tongue: "There's something I need to tell you."
He had wanted to confess to Evelyn Grant.
He'd wanted to tell her about... about that text message from Florence Morgan.
But seeing Evelyn so happy today, and after she had said something so touching, Ryan Sterling simply couldn't bring himself to say it.
