JAIME'S POV.
I could not believe what I was seeing. My men all stood up from the couches they were sitting on as Nikolaj walked in, staring at me with icy eyes. There was nothing wrong with him. He looked perfectly healthy for someone who should have been drugged by me for a year. The medicine I used was still sitting in my closet, untouched.
How did he get out? I had given clear orders for him to be locked up. Without meaning to, I stood up. His presence was so commanding that I suddenly remembered this mansion was actually his.
My men moved to stand behind me, and Nikolaj sat down in a chair, crossing his legs.
"Sit," he said. His voice was deep, and I felt afraid because Georgia was right upstairs. They were so close. What would happen now?
I sat down, feeling strangely obedient.
"I'm sure you have a lot of questions," he started, looking around. "The house hasn't changed at all." I saw Hanna trying to sneak toward the stairs.
