Nanisha stood nervously, waiting to see the beast she had married.
Lagartha leaned closer and whispered."My queen, I've worked for the king for decades."
"Decades?" Nanisha questioned, staring at the teen-looking butler behind her.
Lagartha continued."He's meeting you for the first time today. So you must be on your best behavior. If you do whatever he says, trust me, you could survive till next week."
"We haven't met?" Nanisha asked nervously.
Lagartha laughed softly."Of course not, my queen. Are you sure you're okay? Did you hit your head somewhere?"
Nanisha's heart started beating faster.First time?Married… but never met?
What kind of nightmare did she wake up into?
The king did not care enough to attend his own wedding.
He was in the mansion, but inside his own palace. He did not care about the ceremony. He did not care who became his bride.
All he knew was that the bride Sir Sirmon sent would belong to him.
After her arrival, she would be dressed. Her blood would be extracted at the altar. It would be brought to his palace. He would bind it with his own.
That was the wedding.
Lucifer only needed a bride to make him stronger.Nothing more.
He did not care to attend it.
Oh… he hasn't seen me.He hasn't even met me.
What should I do?
Her palms turned cold.
She straightened her back slowly. If this Lucifer only wanted a bride for power…
He couldn't care less about her.
All Nanisha could think about was the betrayal. Her husband. Her best friend.
She would go to any length for revenge.Anything.
No one would get away with what they did to her.
Her heart burned with a new fire.
Lagartha led her through the grand hall toward the palace where the ceremony would take place, her steps echoing on the marble floors, the air heavy with anticipation.
Two massive seats loomed ahead, pleated with gold and sparkling diamonds that caught the light, almost blinding in their grandeur.
Lagartha extended her hands toward one, her face serious."That's your seat, Your Queen, but you cannot sit until you've been crowned," she said softly, her voice carrying both warning and care.
Nanisha's chest tightened. She had to wait. Patiently. For him. Her husband. The man whose existence until now had been nothing but a name, a contract, a nightmare she hadn't yet lived.
Then, suddenly, the doors swung open and the hall seemed to shrink around him. Lucifer arrived, flanked by guards that moved like shadows, silent but deadly, forming a moving wall of power around him.
Nanisha's eyes widened. She had expected ugliness, rage, something monstrous. But what she saw stole her breath, tall, muscular,She saw his eyes glinting under the glow of the chandeliers, they were crimson. .His skin was pale, almost luminous, elegant in a way that made her chest tighten.
Then… their eyes met.
He ignored her completely, his crimson eyes never lingering as he passed by, and took his seat on the throne.
Nanisha stood frozen, like a helpless dog.
"Our bride is gorgeous," the elderly lady said, breaking the silence, her voice echoing across the grand hall.
The ceremony began, flowing with rituals and chants, but the king still didn't speak a single word to her.
Nanisha's eyes scanned the crowd, and then she noticed something strange.
All of them, the nobles, the attendants, even the guards, their eyes glowed golden, shimmering under the chandeliers.
Except… hers. And the king's which were burning Crimson.
Her heart skipped, a shiver running down her spine. Why was she different?
She was crowned the Queen, a golden heavy crown settling on her head.
She sat on the throne beside lucifer, her throne was still as gorgeous as ever but was a little bit smaller than his. He's that king, so she wasn't surprised. Her hands trembling slightly as she took her place.
Her eyes scanned the crowd, every face staring, glowing gold except for one pair of crimson eyes fixed on her.
"Who are these people… and where am I?" she whispered to herself, panic and confusion twisting in her chest.
Nothing felt real.Everything felt like a dream… or a nightmare.
"Don't flatter yourself," Lucifer finally spoke and Nanisha nearly jumped out of her skin, his deep voice rolling over her like thunder and making her chest tighten as if it could crush her
"You are not queen-worthy," he said, his crimson eyes locking onto hers and piercing right through, "You were sold by your dad because he owes me, you have no say here as a queen, you are only here to make me stronger, you are no different from a maid"
Nanisha froze, pieces clicking together in her mind. This… this was like the stories from her childhood. The ones she read about Lucifer punishing evil-doers on Earth.
And then she saw it.The golden eyes. The crimson eyes. The glow of power around them.
They were all Djinn. And she… she was a Djinn too. They all served Lucifer.
The ceremony was almost over and the final process was here, the part she had dreaded the most
She had to sign with him, her name next to his on the ancient-looking paper, the edges curling like they had held centuries of blood and power
Her eyes froze on the name written in ink that seemed to glow faintly: Nanisha Ruveil Sermon
Her first name was still hers, but not the last, not her old life, not her real identity, and a shiver ran down her spine thinking how easily Lucifer hadn't noticed, how this body and soul weren't the original bride
Her hand trembled as she took the Quill, her heart hammered and she signed it anyway, scared that she had just made the greatest mistake of her life.
"We're going to Earth in seven days," Lucifer said coldly, crimson eyes flicking over her.
