Chapter 4: The Golden Fever

The Materialization

The air on the Thousand Sunny, in the hidden labs of the World Government, and in the kingdom of Germa 66 suddenly shimmered. With a sound like a chiming bell, three physical, palm-sized coins forged from a gold so pure it seemed to emit its own light materialized out of thin air.

On Sabaody, the coin drifted down into Nico Robin's open palm. It was heavy, warm, and engraved with the image of the ancient scales. The rest of the Straw Hats crowded around her, their eyes reflecting the golden glint.

"Robin! You actually got one!" Usopp yelled, his eyes nearly popping out of his head. "A real, honest-to-god Sovereign Coin! Do you know what this means? You can make your Haki super-strong! Or... or we can save them and bring someone back!"

Luffy leaned in, poking the coin with a finger. "It doesn't smell like meat," he noted, disappointed, but then his grin widened. "But that old guy on the screen said it can make you the 'Prime' version. Robin, are you gonna use it?"

Robin closed her fingers over the coin, her expression uncharacteristically guarded. "Not yet, Luffy. This coin is more than just a power-up. It's a target. If the Marines or other pirates see that we have these, Sabaody will become a war zone faster than Kizaru can arrive."

The Terror of the Fleet Admiral

In Marineford, the atmosphere had shifted from professional readiness to absolute chaos. Sengoku stood on the balcony, his eyes fixed on the Global Chat where Vegapunk's name still lingered.

"Vegapunk... that fool," Sengoku hissed. "He just painted a bullseye on his own head. And Nico Robin? The Light of the Revolution has a coin? This is a disaster!"

He turned to his communications officer. "Alert the Admirals! The objective has changed! If any pirate on the Gold List or anyone who wins a trial is spotted, they are to be detained immediately. We cannot allow the balance of power to shift because of these... these heavenly bribes!"

Beside him, Garp was staring at his own hands. He wasn't thinking about the coins. He was thinking about the voices of Roger and Rocks. The dead were back, and they were watching. For the first time in his life, the Hero of the Marines felt like the world he had spent his life building was made of sand.

The Greed of the Emperors

On Whole Cake Island, Big Mom's tantrum had stopped. She stared at the screen, her eyes narrowed at the name Vinsmoke Judge.

"Judge got a coin?" she cackled, her voice shaking the palace. "Mama-mama! Perospero! Prepare the fleet! If Germa thinks they can keep that treasure for themselves, they've forgotten who I am! I want those coins! I want to see my 'Prime' self again!"

On Onigashima, Kaido watched Queen curse and scream in the chat. The Governor-General of the Beast Pirates didn't care about Queen's vanity, but he stared intensely at the Haki Evolution reward.

"Advanced Haki for a single coin?" Kaido growled, a dark smile crossing his face. "This list isn't just a ranking. It's an armory. King! Queen! I don't care how many questions you have to answer—bring me those coins. If we can resurrect the legends of the past, I'll have the greatest war this world has ever seen!"

The Silent Contemplation

While the world screamed, the "Strongest" were silent.

Dracule Mihawk sat in his boat, his eyes fixed on the empty air where a coin might appear if he chose to participate. He had no interest in Haki evolution—he had already reached the pinnacle—but the Resurrection Coin... his thoughts drifted to opponents long gone. "A world where the dead return," he whispered. "The era of the 'Greatest' is about to get very crowded."

In Impel Down, Buggy the Clown was hyperventilating. "A coin? A coin that can give you Haki?! If I get one of those, I can finally stop being scared of every stray bullet! But... I don't know anything about history! Why didn't I pay attention when Captain Roger was talking?!"

The Strategy of the Revolution

In a dark room on a hidden island, Monkey D. Dragon watched the screen. Behind him, Ivankov and Sabo were in a heated discussion.

"Dragon-san," Sabo said, his voice urgent. "If we can collect ten of those coins... we can bring back the scholars of Ohara. We can bring back the people who knew the truth."

Dragon didn't turn around. "Or we can restore Kuma," he said softly.

The room went quiet. They all looked at the list of rewards. The Prime Potion: Restore a living body to its absolute physical peak. "One coin at a time," Dragon commanded. "The world is going to go mad for these treasures. We must be the ones who use them for the people, not for tyranny."

The Proclamation of the Plague

The screen didn't just display Queen's name; it began to bleed images of his "Essence." This was the true power of the Gold List—it didn't just rank; it proven.

A montage of horror began to play across the sky. The world watched, paralyzed, as a younger, more agile Queen stood amidst a mountain of corpses in a kingdom no one recognized. He was laughing, holding a vial of glowing purple liquid. The screen displayed the title: [Feat: The Great Extinction of the Oykot Kingdom.]

"That... that's the virus that wiped out an entire northern civilization in three days," Robin whispered, her hand tightening around her coin. her face was pale. "The World Government blamed it on a natural plague. They lied."

In the chat, the reaction was a storm of fury and awe.

> [Random King]: "He killed them all?! For a research project?! This man is a demon!"

> [Queen]: "Bwahaha! Look at that form! I was so slim back then, I was practically a god! And that virus? That was my 'Purple Sunset.' A masterpiece of biological engineering!"

> [Rocks D. Xebec]: "Scientific toys. In my day, we used our fists to erase kingdoms. But I suppose a coward's poison has its own efficiency."

The Mechanical Nightmare

The projection shifted. It showed Queen's body mid-transformation, but it wasn't a normal Zoan shift. The world watched in morbid fascination as his neck extended—not with flesh, but with a series of heavy-duty, hissing hydraulic pistons and glowing wires.

[Feat: The Cybernetic Overhaul of the Brachiosaurus]

The screen detailed his internal weaponry: the laser arrays in his mouth, the Gatling guns hidden in his throat, and the "Sparking Red" technology he had stolen and modified.

"He turned himself into a living warship," Franky shouted, his jaw hitting the deck of the Sunny. "That's not just a Devil Fruit... that's a level of radical engineering that shouldn't exist! I need to see those blueprints!"

"Franky, no!" Nami yelled, hitting him over the head. "He's a monster who makes viruses! Don't get inspired by him!"

The World's Horror

In Marineford, the younger Marines were trembling. To see a Rank 50—the very bottom of the list—possessing the power to erase entire populations with a single vial was a wake-up call.

"If this is the floor," a young ensign stammered, dropping his rifle. "Then what kind of monsters are at Rank 1? How can we possibly fight them?"

Sengoku's face was grim. He looked at the screen, then at the gathered fleet. The morale of the "Greatest Force" was being shredded by a single ranking. The soldiers were realizing that the "justice" they served had hidden these threats from them, and that they were woefully outclassed.

In Mary Geoise, the Five Elders were silent. They weren't worried about Queen's viruses—they had their own ways of dealing with him. They were worried about the exposure. The Gold List was showing the world things that were meant to stay in the darkness of the 800-year vacuum.

The Taunt of the Legend

Just as the projection of Queen's feats reached its peak—showing him clashing with a younger Marco the Phoenix—a new message appeared in the chat that silenced everyone.

> [Gol D. Roger]: "He's a big fellow, isn't he? But Rayleigh, do you remember that time we sailed past the MADS lab? The smell of ozone was so thick it made my nose itch! Bwahaha! It's good to see the young ones are still causing trouble, even if it is a bit messy."

>

> [Queen]: "ROGER?! The Pirate King noticed me?! Hmph! Of course he did! I'm the main attraction! Just wait until you see my Rank 50 reward lottery! I'm going to get something that makes even you look like a rowboat captain!"

>

The golden light around Queen's name began to intensify, signaling the start of the Sovereign Lottery. The world leaned in. The first "God-Tier" item was about to be handed out.
