Twilight's POV
The next couple of days were a blur.
Everyone was getting hyped for the first dragon selection. This was something they dragons randomly do, they come pick who they feel connected to, those ones get exempted and released.
"By the end of this week, the number of people here will reduce." Nixon said as we walked to the library area.
"I guess so but I think all of us would still be here." Considering that we were either dragon less or not dragon blood.
"Twilight if I may ask, why do you like the library so much?"
"A girl loves being educated. If I don't make it, I'd love to become a scholar instead." I
shrugged while picking a book up to read.
I spent a lot of time taking notes about the history of dragons and how their link works.
"Dragons can only talk to people they are connected to."… "Then why could fae talk to me?"
I was getting a slight headache, so I decided to wrap it up and return the books.
As I dropped the last book I noticed a burgundy book with black vines on it.
I felt a pull towards the book and I picked it up.
The pages were empty, every single page. As I was about to drop it ink flowed on the first page.
Property of Twilight Draven.
I dropped the burgundy book as if it had burned me. *Property of Twilight Draven.*
The words, stark black against the plain pages, pulsed faintly. Her head throbbed, a sharp, insistent pain behind her eyes, mirroring the strange tug in her mind she'd felt earlier.
This wasn't just a book; it was "hers" But how? And what did it mean? Empty pages, then a claim. It felt like a trap.
"Twilight are you okay? Where are you?" I heard Prati call out. Seems like the entire group had gotten to the library.
"Yeah I am. I just found a pretty cool book." I closed the book immediately she got closer."What is it about?" I had an idea, I wanted to see if she could see anything in the book too.
Here, I opened it. She cocked her head to the side.
"Twilight this book is empty…oh well… The dragon selection has started tho." I nodded.
"I'll meet you guys later. Tell Nixon to leave the library card for me." And she left.
I opened it again, still blank, except for my name. I flipped through the pages, my heart
hammering.
Just an endless expanse of white. Was it a trick or a cruel joke?
Prati was a witch but so was Willow. I just needed someone who could help.
The thought sent a shiver down her spine. The lines on her neck, which she'd been trying to ignore, now felt like they were vibrating.
She closed the book, pushing it back into its slot, trying to make it disappear among the
thousands of others. But she knew it was there, waiting, a silent promise of truths she might not be ready to face.
The headache intensified, blurring her vision. She remembered Fae's warning:
"Be careful Twilight or you might cut your life shorter than it's already becoming."
Was this what Fae meant? This book, these lines, this sudden, inexplicable connection to something old and powerful? She needed answers, and she needed them fast. Lysa. She had to talk to Lysa.
I went to look for Lysa but I found Willow instead.
"Watch where you're going!" She screened at me.
"I don't think you're blind either or are you?" I snapped back. This girl makes my skin crawl
but I needed her help.
"Having a little trouble Draven?" She crossed her arms.
"No, nothing." As I was about to walk away she stopped me.
"I'm a witch and a seer but for some odd reasons I can't seem to see beyond your first dragon day. You think you're dangerous now? Wait till those lines on your body begin to manifest.
You'll either kill a lot or be killed." And she walked away. I stared at the red haired witch for a good 1 minute before I finally moved.I was running mad and I needed help. My skin tingled again, the hairs on my body stood.
That's when I smelled her, Isla.
I hadn't seen her in a while or rather she had been avoiding me after the whole day out
encounter.
"Goodday general." I blocked her path, I couldn't resist my smirk.
"Move aside twilight I have somewhere to be." She tried pushing past me but I blocked her again.
"Somewhere to be? You're in the library. Heck what are you always doing in the library
princess?" I leaned forward a bit. I could see how flustered she was. Just then I imagined her whole face red from other things.
I cleared my throat and stood up straight.
"What I do with my life isn't your business Twilight and move aside before rumors of us
together start circulating." She tried pushing past me this time and I let her.
"Embarrassed about me already?" I shouted.
I left the library and headed to the training ground. There was a particular guy that had been killing people during sparring sessions and I wanted to spar with him.
"Twilight Draven, pleasure to meet you." I brought out my hand for a shake.
He just ignored it.
"Max Arkwood, pleasure to kill you." He showed no emotion and I knew this was going to be a long fight.
Considering that my tattoos started glowing at that point.
But something else caught my attention.
His eyes glowed red for a split second.
