Aarav's footsteps echoed in the dimly lit room.
His heart pounded so hard he thought it might burst.
In the corner, his father was tied to a chair, silent and unmoving. And there… the man in the black suit, the one who had haunted their lives, stood calm, almost smiling.
"Rohan… what is happening?" Aarav's voice trembled. "Who… who is he?"
Rohan said nothing, only lowered his gaze. The man in black laughed softly, the sound crawling under Aarav's skin.
"You still don't understand, Aarav," the man said, stepping closer.
"Everything… every tragedy your family has suffered… every betrayal… it wasn't random. It was all… orchestrated."
Aarav's chest tightened. "Stop! Just tell me what you want!"
The man's eyes gleamed in the faint light.
"I want you to see the truth. The truth about your family… and hers."
He gestured toward Anaya, who had been standing silently in the corner. Her eyes widened as she instinctively stepped back.
Aarav froze. "What… what do you mean about her?"
The man smiled cruelly.
"Do you think your sweet, innocent Anaya comes from an ordinary family?
That they are harmless?"
He reached into his coat and pulled out a faded photograph.
Aarav's breath caught
it was Anaya as a child, standing beside a tall, imposing man. And standing next to him… the man in the black suit.
Aarav's jaw dropped. "That… that's impossible!"
Anaya's face went pale. "No… this… this can't be…"
The man chuckled.
"Oh, it's very possible. Very real. I am the one your family has tried to hide. The one they betrayed. The one Anaya's parents swore never to speak of again."
Aarav felt his stomach drop.
"You you are from her family?"
The man's smile widened.
"Yes, Aarav. I am the shadow they tried to erase. The one who watched as lies tore their family apart and now, I'm here to finish what they started."
Aarav's mind raced. All the attacks, all the secrets, all the fear—none of it had been random. And worse Anaya's parents… the people she had trusted most had kept this from her.
"I don't understand" Anaya whispered, tears brimming in her eyes.
"You will,"
the man said, pulling a small black envelope from his coat. "Inside this is everything. Every secret, every betrayal.
And the warning"
He pointed to the envelope
"Trust No One."
Aarav's hands shook as he took it. But before he could open it, the lights went out. Darkness swallowed the room. A single voice, soft and menacing, echoed through the shadows
"Did you really think you knew who your enemies were?"
A gunshot cracked the silence. Aarav stumbled, heart racing. And then… a whisper, icy and close, froze him in place
"The truth about her family is only the beginning."
Aarav turned to look at Anaya, but her face was pale, unreadable. Somewhere deep in his chest, a chilling realization took hold: the enemy had been closer than they ever imagined—and now, nothing would ever be the same.
