Chapter 11 - Middle of Danger II

The carriage had fallen completely silent.

No one dared to move.

The men who had taken control of the train stood firmly in place, watching the passengers like hawks. Fear spread through the air, heavy and suffocating.

A child began to cry softly before their mother quickly tried to calm them down.

"Everyone stay seated," one of the men ordered. "No one does anything stupid."

Across the aisle, the familiar traveler leaned closer and whispered, "Well… this escalated quickly."

He didn't respond.

Instead, his eyes kept moving.

Three near the front door.

One near the aisle.

One watching the passengers.

Five in total.

None of them looked particularly trained. Their movements were rough, impatient.

That meant something important.

They were nervous.

Which meant they were more likely to make mistakes.

The familiar traveler noticed the way he was watching everything.

"You're planning something," she whispered.

"Not yet."

"But you are thinking about it."

He finally looked at them.

"Thinking is different from acting."

Just then, one of the men began walking down the aisle, checking the passengers.

Phones were taken.

Bags were searched.

The tension grew with every step.

When the man reached their row, he stopped.

"You two," he said sharply. "Bags."

The familiar traveler slowly raised her hands. "Relax. We're not hiding anything."

The man snatched the bag and searched through it quickly.

Then he looked at the boy by the window.

"Yours."

Calmly, he handed it over.

The man opened it.

Clothes.

A notebook.

A pen.

Nothing else.

He scoffed and tossed the bag back.

"Pathetic."

The man moved on.

The familiar traveler exhaled quietly.

"That was close."

But the boy's eyes remained focused.

Because during those few seconds, he had learned something important.

The man near the back kept glancing toward the emergency brake.

The one by the door was gripping his weapon too tightly.

And the leader—

The leader kept checking his watch.

They weren't just robbing the train.

They were waiting for something.

And whatever it was…

It was going to happen very soon.
