Chapter 3 - My life, my rules

The whispers followed him everywhere.

In the hallways.

In the classroom.

Even during lunch.

"Did you hear what happened yesterday?"

"He corrected the teacher…"

"No way someone our age can do that."

He heard everything.

But he didn't care.

He sat alone at his desk, calmly turning the pages of a book while the rest of the class stared from a distance.

To them, he was strange.

To him, they were predictable.

The teacher entered the classroom again, this time holding a stack of test papers.

"I decided to give you all a surprise test today," she announced.

Groans filled the room.

Except from one person.

He simply rested his chin on his hand.

Minutes passed as everyone struggled with the questions.

Pens scratched nervously across paper.

But one student finished far too quickly.

He stood up and walked to the front.

"You're done already?" the teacher asked, surprised.

"Yes."

She checked the time. Only ten minutes had passed.

"Sit down and check your work again," she said.

"There's no need."

The confidence in his voice made the classroom silent.

The teacher frowned slightly. "And why is that?"

He looked directly at her, his expression calm.

"Because I don't live by other people's expectations."

He placed the paper on her desk.

"My life," he said quietly,

"My rules."

And for the first time, the class realized something unsettling.

This boy wasn't just smart.

He was someone who would never let the world control him.
