Chapter 10 - Three Paths Collide

The skies above Sector Nine had darkened completely.

Smoke rose from the industrial district like a black pillar twisting into the clouds, illuminated occasionally by flashes of distant lightning. Emergency sirens echoed through the lower sectors of Neo-Astra, their mechanical voices urging civilians to evacuate the surrounding blocks.

Most people had already fled.

But the streets below were far from empty.

The demon moved through the district like a walking disaster.

Each step cracked the pavement. Metal streetlights bent under the pressure of its passing. Abandoned vehicles were crushed beneath its claws as it searched through the maze of narrow streets.

Its glowing eyes scanned everything.

Hunting.

Searching.

Waiting.

And above it, cutting through the dark sky like a silver arrow, Orion's transport vehicle descended rapidly.

Inside the cockpit, Orion leaned forward slightly as he guided the craft through thick smoke.

"City defenses already tried stopping it," he said, glancing at the tactical display on the dashboard. "Didn't work."

Kael watched the streets below through the windshield.

Buildings were damaged.

Several intersections were blocked by debris.

Emergency drones hovered at a safe distance, projecting evacuation signals.

But none of them dared approach the monster.

Lucien's calm voice came from the back seat.

"That creature was summoned."

Orion nodded.

"Yeah, I figured."

Kael frowned.

"How can you tell?"

Lucien leaned slightly forward, his crimson eyes reflecting the flickering lights of the city below.

"Demons do not simply appear twice in one night."

He paused.

"Especially not inside a heavily monitored city like Neo-Astra."

Orion slowed the vehicle as they reached the outer edge of Sector Nine.

"Which means someone's pulling the strings."

Lucien's expression darkened slightly.

"Exactly."

Kael felt the strange warmth inside his chest begin to rise again.

Stronger than before.

The closer they moved toward the creature, the stronger the sensation became.

Almost like a magnetic pull.

Orion noticed Kael stiffen slightly.

"You feeling that again?"

Kael nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Lucien watched him carefully.

"That confirms it."

Orion glanced sideways at him.

"Confirms what?"

Lucien's gaze remained fixed on Kael.

"The creature is reacting to him."

Kael's grip tightened slightly on the seat.

"Then we should stop it before it reaches the rest of the city."

Orion grinned.

"Already planning on that."

He pressed a control on the dashboard.

The vehicle slowed and hovered above a wide intersection several blocks away from the monster.

"This is as close as we land," Orion said.

Below them, the demon roared again.

The sound echoed through the buildings like an earthquake.

Kael could feel the vibration in his bones.

The creature smashed through a warehouse wall, sending steel beams collapsing into the street.

Orion powered down the engines.

"Alright," he said, opening the cockpit door.

"Let's go meet our guest."

The three men stepped out onto the rooftop landing platform.

Cold wind rushed past them.

From this height, the entire district was visible.

The demon stood several streets away.

Towering above the surrounding buildings.

At least four meters tall.

Its body was covered in thick armored plates that glowed faintly with dark energy.

Smoke poured from its shoulders like burning coal.

And its claws—

Each one easily large enough to tear through reinforced steel.

Orion whistled quietly.

"Yeah… that's definitely bigger than the first one."

Lucien stepped forward slightly.

His crimson eyes studied the creature carefully.

"This is no ordinary demon."

Kael felt the warmth inside his chest flare again.

The creature's head suddenly snapped upward.

Its glowing eyes locked onto the rooftop.

Directly at him.

Orion noticed immediately.

"Well… that answers the question."

The demon roared.

A violent wave of sound shook the surrounding buildings.

Then it began moving toward them.

Fast.

Much faster than something that size should have been able to move.

It crashed through walls and barriers like paper.

Closing the distance rapidly.

Orion cracked his knuckles.

"Alright, time to get to work."

Electric sparks began dancing across his forearms.

The storm energy around him intensified instantly.

Kael stepped forward beside him.

"I'll help."

Orion shook his head.

"You stay back for now."

Kael frowned.

"I'm not helpless."

Lucien spoke calmly from behind them.

"No. But you are the reason that creature is here."

Kael turned toward him.

Lucien continued.

"If you rush in without understanding your power, you will only make the situation worse."

Orion grinned.

"Listen to the vampire."

Kael hesitated.

The demon smashed through another building wall.

Now only one block away.

Lucien stepped forward.

"Stormfang."

Orion glanced sideways.

"Yeah?"

Lucien's crimson eyes gleamed faintly.

"Shall we?"

Orion's smile widened.

"Thought you'd never ask."

The demon burst into the intersection below them.

Orion moved first.

He jumped from the rooftop.

For a split second he fell freely through the air.

Then lightning exploded around his body.

Thunder cracked across the district.

Orion landed in the middle of the street with enough force to shatter the pavement beneath his feet.

The demon roared and swung a massive claw toward him.

Orion met the attack head-on.

Lightning surged from his arm.

His fist slammed into the creature's limb.

The impact sent a shockwave through the street.

Windows shattered across nearby buildings.

The demon staggered back slightly.

But it did not fall.

Lucien moved next.

He stepped calmly off the rooftop edge.

Instead of falling—

His body dissolved into a swirling cloud of dark crimson mist.

The mist drifted downward silently.

Then reformed behind the demon.

Lucien's eyes glowed brightly.

He raised one hand.

The blood from a broken pipe nearby suddenly lifted into the air.

It twisted into long razor-sharp strands.

With a simple gesture—

The strands shot forward.

They wrapped around the demon's arms and legs like chains.

The creature roared violently.

It tore at the blood bindings.

But Lucien's control was absolute.

For a moment—

The monster was held in place.

Orion did not waste the opportunity.

Lightning exploded around him again.

He charged forward.

His fist slammed into the demon's chest with incredible force.

Thunder cracked across the city.

The creature was thrown backward through an entire building wall.

Dust and debris filled the air.

On the rooftop above, Kael watched the battle unfold.

His heart pounded.

The two men fighting below moved with terrifying power and precision.

Storm and blood.

Two ancient forces clashing against something from another world.

But the warmth inside Kael's chest kept growing stronger.

The demon emerged from the destroyed building.

Its body smoked where Orion's lightning had struck.

But it was far from defeated.

Its burning eyes lifted again.

Searching.

Then they found him.

Kael.

The creature roared louder than before.

And suddenly—

The energy inside Kael exploded.

Silver light erupted around him.

The rooftop beneath his feet cracked.

Down below, Orion and Lucien both froze for a split second.

They felt it immediately.

The same strange resonance from earlier.

Three forces reacting.

Silver.

Lightning.

Crimson.

The air vibrated.

Energy surged between them again.

Forming the same triangular pattern.

Brighter this time.

Stronger.

The demon screamed.

It recognized the power.

And it charged directly toward the building.

Lucien's voice cut through the chaos.

"Kael!"

But it was too late.

The creature leapt upward.

Claws tearing into the side of the building as it climbed toward the rooftop.

Orion cursed.

Lightning surged around him as he launched himself upward after it.

Lucien dissolved into crimson mist again.

Racing toward the roof.

But Kael stood still.

The silver energy around him continued growing.

The demon reached the rooftop.

Its claws slammed into the concrete.

It lunged forward—

Straight toward him.

For a moment—

Time seemed to stop.

Kael raised his hand instinctively.

And the silver light exploded outward.

The entire rooftop erupted in blinding radiance.

Orion landed beside him.

Lucien reformed a step away.

And the three energies collided again.

Storm.

Blood.

And something ancient.

The demon roared as the power slammed into it.

But this time—

It was not just fighting three individuals.

It was fighting something far greater.

The beginning of a bond none of them fully understood yet.

The Trinity had begun to awaken.

And tonight—

Neo-Astra would witness its first true battle.
