The sun had barely risen over Draveth's mountains, yet the valley was already alive with tension.
Aira sharpened her sword, flames licking lightly along the edge. Her muscles ached from yesterday's training, but her mind was sharper than ever. She had control now—partial, but enough to feel confident.
Kael stretched beside her, wind playing through his hair, a playful grin on his face despite the tension.
"Don't tell me you're getting nervous," Aira said, glancing at him.
Kael smirked. "Nervous? Me? Never. Just… excited."
Aira rolled her eyes but didn't argue. Deep down, she knew he was right. Excitement and fear often walked hand in hand, and both were necessary for survival.
The peaceful valley trembled suddenly, a vibration unlike any before.
Aira's eyes narrowed. "Something's coming."
From the forest's edge, a deep, unnatural roar echoed, shaking the ground.
Kael's wind swirled around him instinctively. "Yeah… that's not normal."
Then, the creature appeared. Larger than before, its body pulsing with a dark purple glow. Its claws dug into the earth as if marking the battlefield. But it wasn't alone. Shadows moved behind it—smaller, humanoid figures emerging from the trees, eyes glowing like embers.
"This is bad," Kael muttered.
Aira gritted her teeth, flames erupting along her sword. "No. This is our test."
They moved in unison.
Aira's flames formed a blazing arc, slashing through the smaller enemies. Kael's wind gusts threw others off balance, giving her openings to strike. The two were starting to understand each other's rhythm—their first real teamwork.
But then, the ground beneath them shook violently. A new figure emerged from the shadows.
Tall, cloaked in black, eyes glowing red. The red-eyed villain from before.
Aira froze. Her sword trembled in her hands.
"You… again," she whispered.
The villain smiled coldly. "I see my little sparks have grown," he said, voice smooth and cruel. "How… charming."
The larger monster roared, charging forward. The smaller shadow figures followed.
Kael's eyes narrowed. "We can't fight them all alone."
Aira clenched her jaw. Flames rose from her blade, forming a ring of fire around them. "Then we won't fight alone. We'll fight together."
A sudden flash of energy appeared beyond the treeline.
A figure stepped forward—a boy with dark hair, his eyes glowing faintly with a golden light.
Aira's heart skipped. Master Dain's words echoed in her mind: "The Force chooses three. The third will appear when the time is right."
Ren.
The boy surveyed the battlefield, calm but determined. Aira's flames surged instinctively, resonating with his presence. Kael's wind swirled in excitement.
For the first time, the three of them stood together—Flame, Wind, and the mysterious third Force.
The villain's smile widened. "Ah… so the trio has finally gathered. Excellent."
The monster roared. Shadows surged forward.
Aira gripped her sword tightly. Kael's hands glowed. Ren's energy pulsed.
This is it, she thought. Our first real battle as the bearers of the Forces.
The three Forces unleashed their power together:
Aira's flames sliced through the shadows.
Kael's wind scattered enemies and created openings.
Ren's mysterious golden energy pulsed outward, knocking back the larger monster.
For a moment, the battlefield was a whirlwind of power and light.
The villain laughed, a sound like breaking stone. "Impressive… but you are still children. You cannot hope to stop what comes next."
The monster and shadows withdrew slightly, but the threat remained.
Aira's eyes burned brighter than ever. She raised her sword. "We're not children. We're the Force bearers. And we will protect this world!"
The red-eyed villain's smile faded, replaced with something sharper—anticipation, anger, and curiosity.
Somewhere far away, the next battle was already forming, and the war of the Forces was truly beginning.
