Arjun and his cousin Sameer were traveling with their family across a desert during a vacation trip. They were excited to see the golden sand dunes and beautiful sunsets.
One afternoon, while exploring near their campsite, the boys wandered too far from their group.
Soon they realized something terrible—they were lost.
The desert stretched endlessly in every direction. The sun was hot, and the wind blew sand across the ground.
"We need to stay calm," Arjun said.
They remembered some survival tips they had learned from a nature show.
First, they looked for shade. They found a large rock and sat behind it to avoid the strong sunlight. They also drank small sips of water to save it.
As evening approached, the desert became cooler. Sameer noticed footprints in the sand.
"Maybe someone passed here before," he said.
The boys followed the footprints carefully. After walking for some time, they spotted a small desert plant.
Arjun remembered that some desert plants grow near underground water. Encouraged by this, they kept moving forward.
Suddenly, they saw a tall hill in the distance. They climbed it slowly. From the top, they finally saw their family's camp far away.
"Look! The tents!" Sameer shouted with relief.
They quickly walked toward the camp. Their family had been searching for them and were extremely happy to see them safe.
Everyone praised the boys for staying calm and thinking wisely.
That night, while sitting under the stars, Arjun and Sameer realized how important courage and smart decisions are in difficult situations.
Their desert survival became an adventure they would never forget.
