Synopsis
One night, under a moon that looked suspiciously red—though probably just a rare eclipse or something—Marco Isayah met a vampire. Or… at least, the man claimed he was one. Carson Nichovlas Clark appeared in front of the exhausted medical student wearing nothing but a hospital gown, looking pale, weak, and severely malnourished. Still handsome though. Credit where credit is due. According to Carson, he was an awakened vampire from centuries ago. According to Marco, he was probably just another lunatic. But the thing is… Carson checked almost every box. Pale skin. Fangs. Weak body. Sunlight sensitivity. An unusual interest in blood. Marco had already dealt with enough strange people during hospital duty. So what would it hurt to indulge one more delusion? After all, believing in vampires for a little while couldn’t possibly hurt. Right?

Chapter 1 - Prologue

After holding everything together for so long, the mix of pain, grief, longing, and hope clings tightly to my heart—pulling at every vein in my body until it feels like I'm bleeding from the inside.

It hurts.

Damn it, this fucking hurts.

Why does love send someone my way only to take them back not long after?

How I wish he was real.

How I wish his delusions were true.

How I wish that delusion never ended.

Just one miracle. One chance.

But even science cannot prove their existence.

So now I stand here, watching the casket slowly descend into the ground—his final goodbye. Just like the grip I tried so desperately not to loosen, he slips away from my hands all the same.

This fucking fraud vampire.

My fraud vampire.
