The Goddess moved, and for a fraction of a second Grey's eyes couldn't properly follow what happened. Her actions seemed layered over one another, almost as though several versions of the same movement had been stacked together because his perception simply wasn't fast enough to resolve them individually, but his reactions were a different matter.
He couldn't clearly see her arm sweep outward, yet he felt the white-gold threads spread through the sky snap in sequence, felt something push through his Resonant Sense, felt it cut across the sea of solar winds around him, and finally felt it ignite against the canopy of heat and flame hanging above the battlefield.
