Chapter 1 - Arrival at middle-earth chp1

"WHAT THE HECK!?"

you might be wondering why i would scream Well... where do i start?.

my name is Mallory Anderson I lived in the US since i was born with my mom and dad

my mom was kind and caring always spoiling me rotten, then there's my dad stern and strict yet loves me and my mom unconditionally. life was happy. made lots of friends. and everything was going smoothly. but something happened which changed my life as a child forever—i lost both my parents in a car crash.

I was around ten and the loss left a wound in my heart. i fell into despair. I couldn't speak i would just stare blankly eyes dead as a fish,

but it changed when my Grandma and Grandpa took me in and cared for me guiding me with patient understanding showering me with love and care

they taught me that no matter how far away my parents were they're always with me in my heart.

from there i slowly found the courage to find the light once more they became my heroes.

i continued my studies in San Francisco went through high school met a lot of friends then went our separate ways when we went to college.

when i graduated from college i got a job as an office worker with a high paying salary now i was able to buy things for my Grandparents.

from food to clothes they liked I cherished of what little time I have with them.

then it happened.

my grandparents passed away due to old

age.

I held a funeral for them shed tears and grieved then as i continued to live on for I know they're always here — guiding watching.

I'm now thirty years old.

around 6am I woke up drink my coffee took a shower then drove to work.

but as I navigate through the road a truck lost control and smashed into my car crushing it against a wall.

...

everything went black.

when I opened my eyes I was unharmed and lay flat on soft grass surrounded by towering trees and the fresh scent of earth and leaves

sunlight filtered through the canopy and somewhere far off bird's were singing.

my heart raced.

where was I?.

slowly, I pushed myself up to my elbows when I noticed I was wearing— a robe black as night with purple lining the a collar high and stiff against my neck.

that wasn't my office attire.

"this has to be a dream..." i muttered

I stood my movements strangely graceful,

almost weightless. a few steps ahead I spotted a pool of water, it's surface was smooth as glass. hesitantly I approached it.

then i saw her.

i gasped — not in fear, but in shock.

my reflection stared back at me, clear as day.

my eyes widen as i took in the figure before me. horns dark as coal, curved elegantly on my head. my skin is pale as porcelain almost glowing against the shadows.

and my eyes—

they were golden.

not brown. not black

not human.

Golden, like molten sunlight.

I slowly lifted my hand to touch my face — and the reflection did the same.

"what... happened to me?"

I touched my horns feeling every edges.

then I pinched myself.

"OW!!!" I winced, rubbing my arm.

"... Okay. definitely not a dream"

before i could process anything else, something shimmered in the air in front of me.

A translucent screen — like glass made of light — flickered into existence.

I froze as words began to appear it's surface

Name: Mallory Anderson

Age : 30

Race: Dark fae

Magic: light and dark

Level: 1

Arsenals:

—healing magic

—nature manipulation

I looked at it

"... Dark Fae"

that word struck me

black robes.

Horns.

Golden eyes.

slowly, i looked back at my reflection in the water

No way. how is this even possible!?

i slowly looked back at my reflection

a sudden realization crushed on me like a second truck

"I look like... Maleficent."

and then—

"WHAT THE HECK!?"

after the scream something within me stirred

it pulse beneath my skin like it was alive

"what's going on!"

the ground began to shake. vines slithered across the soil onto my body.

"what's going on!?"

I stumbled back and before I knew It, they wrapped around my body, arms and legs entangling my body.

I couldn't move an inch.

"well sh*t" I cursed

I tried to break free but it just tightened the more i struggled.

then—

a silhouette of a figure appeared from afar, approaching cautiously

"Um... are you alright?"

i froze

the voice was soft, nervous and curious. he stepped forward — and there he stood. hairs curled and messy his height seemed to be at hip level. bare foot and simple clothes.

"...uh yeah" i said quickly "could you uh... cut the vines for me?. please?"

the man hesitated for a moment then pulled out a knife from his bag.

slowly but carefully he stepped closer approaching me and the vines around me

one by one he cut through the vines.

at first it twitch almost resisting. but eventually loosened and fell away.

he quickly held out a hand helping me regained my footing

"thank you" i said, brushing off my robes

"you're quite welcome" he replied politely

sheathing the knife away. he looked up staring at my towering figure.

his gaze slowly traveled to my dark robes then my pale skin.

and finally—

the horns

his eyes widen slightly. not in terror but in stunned silence, then he spoke

"if i may ask... who are you?" he said his eyes gleamed with curiosity. "your appearance is a bit bizarre" he tilted his head analyzing my form

"you don't look like an elf..."he glance from top to bottom "not human either"

I hesitated, searching for words that will not make me sound insane.

I thought for a moment steadying myself as i took a deep breath.

if i am to live with Maleficents features then might as well own the name.

"I am... a dark fae" i said carefully "you may call me Mallory. or Mal, if that's easier"

the man blinked once.

"... a fae?" he repeated slowly "ive... never heard of such creatures"

a long pause stretch between us

he studied me— not rudely but thoughtfully like I'm some kind of puzzling book he meant to finish

then to my surprised. he smiled.

"well" he said, giving a small bow "it is a pleasure to meet you miss Maleficent"

He place a hand over his chest as he cheerfully introduced himself

"I am Bilbo Baggins at your service"

My eyes widen that name struck me like lightning

'no way Bilbo Baggins as in the hobbit!?... I'd heard of that movie back in my world — but I've only seen clips, memes, and references— but I've never actually sat down and

watch it'

'i wasn't just in some random forest i was in middle earth'

my subtly rub my chin as i spiraled into thought

ok calm down. if I'm in middle earth then that means

Elves, Dwarves, wizard and worst of all orcs

Bilbo stood there watching my expression shift into through five stages of existential crisis.

he cleared his throat politely breaking the awkward silence.

"well miss Mallory" he said gently "would you like to come back home with me and have some tea?" he offered

right hobbits are peaceful and kind hearted creatures

I hesitated for a second... then nodded

ARRIVAL AT THE SHIRE

the walk was short.

when we arrived a strange calm settled over me. tranquility lingered in the air as i take in the scenery

Rolling green hills stretched endlessly, before us. dotted with round doors built into the earth. Smoke curled lazily from chimneys. Gardens overflowed with bright flowers and neat rows of vegetables.

it was peaceful.

too peaceful perhaps.

As we stepped into the heart of the Shire, conversations began to falter.

One by one, heads snapped as they turned towards me.

Hobbits paused mid-step.

A woman holding a basket of fruits and vegetables froze.

Two children stopped chasing each other and stared openly.

Whispers began.

"Who's that?"

"Look at the height of her!"

"Are those horns—?"

I resisted the urge to shrink into myself.

Instead I raised my head high and kept my posture straight, movements calm — graceful, controlled.

Mimicking the persona of Maleficent

A few hobbits instinctively stepped back.

Others leaned forward, fascinated. rather than afraid

Beside me, Bilbo cleared his throat loudly.

"she is my guest" he firmly announced though still polite "Theres is no cause for alarm"

That seemed to calm them — slightly. But the stares did not stop.

I could feel them against my back like warm sunlight.

judgment.

For a fleeting moment, I wondered what they saw.

A monster?

A marvel?

Or an omen. a bad one?

The wind stirred gently around us, tugging at my flowing dark robes.

The flowers along the path leaned subtly in my direction, as if acknowledging me.

A murmur passed through the crowd.

"She's touched by the woods…"

"That's no ordinary traveler…"

I exhaled slowly.

So much for blending in. i said sarcastically

Ahead of us, a familiar green door came into view — round and welcoming, set into the hillside like it had grown there naturally.

Bag End.

The home of Bilbo Baggins.
