Chapter 5 - Serie Talent

It was the second day of Rhodes and Serie's adventure.

At Serie's strong insistence, Rhodes finally decided on a goal.

That was to find a human gathering place.

When Serie asked him why, Rhodes replied,

"Because I want to teach them magic!"

Since humans in this era didn't know magic yet, and Rhodes didn't know how humans learned magic in the original history, it didn't stop him from pushing the process forward.

"The primary requirement for learning magic is talent, and secondly, one needs magic power within their body. I don't believe the human race possesses such talent."

Serie said coldly. Learning magic in this world was not an easy feat. The Elf Race were favored darlings, born with magic talent, and even their lifespans were almost infinite, rarely dying of old age.

Therefore, the Elf Race were able to stand at the pinnacle of the Mythical Era, becoming powerful existences that even the gods had to take seriously.

Looking at the entire world, only the Skywing Clan, personally created by the gods, and the Demon race, born from magical creatures and possessing higher intelligence, could be compared to them.

So, regarding Rhodes's claim of teaching humans magic, Serie was somewhat dismissive.

"Humans do have it," Rhodes's answer was full of confidence. "Am I not the best example? I believe that once humans learn to use magic, they will surely carve out a place for themselves in this world."

In fact, Rhodes was being conservative.

Because with the gods absent, a thousand years after the end of the Mythical Era, the human race had already stood at the pinnacle of the world, with humans visible everywhere.

Even the Demon King of the Demon race was eventually vanquished by future heroes.

This was enough to prove that humans had this potential, but Rhodes didn't plan to tell Serie these things; after all, even if he did, she might not believe him.

She would only understand once she personally witnessed the power contained within human bodies.

Serie chuckled softly at Rhodes's confident statement and said nothing more.

In her opinion, Rhodes was just exceptionally lucky, accidentally awakening his magic talent and accidentally learning to use magic, but this didn't represent anything significant.

On the third day of their adventure.

The two encountered the first magical creatures of their journey, or more accurately, a pack of them: a group of dark purple-furred magical wolves.

In the past, when Rhodes encountered such creatures, his only option was to run away, or find an opportunity to climb a tree and wait for them to leave before coming down.

But now, things had changed.

He had help by his side.

Serie raised her hand, and a Light Arrow flew out rapidly, precisely piercing one of the magical wolves.

"You also try the magic you learned earlier."

Serie was naturally referring to the Light Arrow magic Rhodes had previously learned from her, though his Light Arrow was more appropriately called an Arrow Rain.

While Rhodes was casting his magic, Serie carefully observed the flow and control of magic power within him.

In fact, Serie was considered exceptionally strong in magic talent even among the Elf race; most Elf magic, she could grasp the general idea of after seeing it demonstrated a few times.

Rhodes took a deep breath and began to cast the magic, following the magic power flow he had observed from Serie earlier. Since he had already cast it once, he released it very smoothly.

However, in Serie's eyes, his magic power flowed in a completely different way.

It was a completely different way of magic power flow compared to when she cast the same magic, which was why he could produce a Light Arrow technique with such a distinct effect.

More than a dozen Light Arrows appeared before him, though they were smaller in size than the Light Arrows Serie released. As he waved his hand, these Light Arrows shot out in a fan shape, covering the area where the magical wolves were located.

"This..." Serie's eyes widened slightly.

Earlier, caught off guard, she hadn't observed the power of this man's magic; instead, she had been knocked unconscious by him.

Now, seeing it with her own eyes, she was shocked once again.

Although the power of each Light Arrow was only half of hers, the quantity compensated for the lack of quality.

The magical wolves surrounding them were instantly riddled with arrows, and dark purple magical blood flowed onto the ground, causing the grass to wither.

"Again!" Serie demanded.

"But there are no more magical creatures."

"It's fine." Serie cast a detection magic and led Rhodes directly to a magical bear. "Now use magic on this bear."

The magical bear roared upon seeing the two, then charged towards them. Seeing this, Rhodes dared not be distracted and immediately cast the Light Arrow technique again.

But this magical bear was clearly much smarter than those magical wolves, and its defense was also much stronger.

Facing Rhodes's Arrow Rain, it first stopped abruptly, then rolled sideways, dodging most of the attacks. Only two Light Arrows pierced its body, leaving a not-so-serious wound.

But the pain still angered it, making its eyes blood red, and its speed towards the two increased significantly.

"Hey! This guy's hide is too thick, it doesn't seem to be working!"

Rhodes quickly looked at Serie beside him, only to see her still immersed in the magic power flow she had just observed, as if she hadn't heard Rhodes at all.

Rhodes was getting anxious. He grabbed her hand, intending to retreat, but Serie's body stood firm like a rock.

It wasn't until the magical bear charged in front of them, and Rhodes could even smell the beastly odor coming from it, that Serie finally spoke.

"Mere magical beast!"

She raised her hand and perfectly replicated Rhodes's Light Arrow Rain, even with greater power, directly piercing the magical bear's entire body.

The magical bear, pierced by such a number of Light Arrows, naturally could not survive and collapsed directly to the ground.

"Amazing!" Rhodes immediately clapped his hands.

As expected of the strongest Archmage of later generations, after only a few observations, she perfectly replicated his magic, and even with greater power.

Now his plan to rely on her was even more promising.

However, on the other side, Serie looked at the magical beast lying on the ground and shook her head, "It's not enough! This can't kill a god."

"Hmm? Did you say something?"

Rhodes felt as if he had just heard something incredible, so he pretended to be foolish and asked.

"Nothing. I will teach you more, more powerful magic. You must transform them into magic capable of killing any living creature."

Sure enough, what he heard just now wasn't an illusion. This petite ancestor actually harbored such thoughts.

It truly surprised Rhodes.

However, thinking about later generations, being able to contemplate how to kill a god during the age of gods certainly fit her personality.

"After you find humans, accompany me to a place."

Serie proposed proactively, but her gaze carried a hint of barely concealed excitement.
