📖 EDITION 23 — "TRIALS OF THE VERSIONS"

Season 1

Opening Scene

Year 5 of the Ten-Year Countdown

Five years had passed.

Half the time Nemesis had given them...

...was already gone.

The Headquarters had become stronger than ever before.

Every Version had trained relentlessly.

Yet...

The Writer knew something was missing.

Strength alone would never defeat Nemesis.

The Writer stood before every Version inside the Grand Hall.

Writer

"You've strengthened your bodies."

"You've sharpened your weapons."

"But..."

He looked at each of them.

Writer

"...have you strengthened your hearts?"

Silence filled the hall.

Writer

"Tomorrow..."

"Each of you will face your greatest enemy."

Barbaric Author

"The greatest enemy?"

The Writer nodded.

Writer

"Yourself."

The room fell silent.

The Hall of Reflections

Deep beneath the Headquarters...

An ancient chamber slowly opened.

Massive stone doors creaked apart.

Inside...

Hundreds of mirrors surrounded a circular arena.

Each mirror reflected...

Not appearances.

But memories.

Regrets.

Fear.

The Dreamer looked around.

Dreamer

"What is this place?"

Forgotten Version

"A place that reveals the truth."

Writer

"No Version leaves here..."

"...without confronting who they truly are."

Barbaric Author's Trial

Barbaric Author stepped into the arena first.

The mirrors glowed.

Suddenly...

Hundreds of broken swords surrounded him.

Every sword belonged to someone he had failed to protect.

Voices echoed endlessly.

"You weren't strong enough."

"You failed."

"You let us die."

Barbaric Author screamed and swung his sword wildly.

The voices only grew louder.

Finally...

He dropped his weapon.

Barbaric Author

"...I'm sorry."

The voices stopped.

The broken swords disappeared.

The mirrors shattered into light.

A new sword appeared before him.

It wasn't stronger.

It was lighter.

Balanced.

Forged from humility.

Writer

"You've passed."

Futuristic Author's Trial

Next came Futuristic Author.

The mirrors transformed into countless machines.

Each one repeated the same sentence.

"Your inventions caused destruction."

The laboratory around him exploded again and again.

He relived every failure.

Every mistake.

Every invention that hurt instead of helped.

He closed his eyes.

Futuristic Author

"Knowledge without wisdom..."

"...is dangerous."

Every machine stopped.

The explosions disappeared.

The mirrors faded.

Writer

"You've passed."

Redeemed Author's Trial

Redeemed Author entered next.

The mirrors showed people he had failed to save.

Children.

Soldiers.

Friends.

Each reached toward him.

"Why didn't you save us?"

Tears rolled down his face.

Redeemed Author

"I couldn't..."

Silence.

Redeemed Author

"But I'll never stop trying."

The figures smiled.

They slowly vanished into light.

Writer

"You've passed."

The Dreamer's Trial

Finally...

The Dreamer stepped forward.

The mirrors remained black.

Nothing happened.

Dreamer

"...Why?"

Then...

One mirror lit up.

He saw himself.

Older.

Standing over a ruined battlefield.

The Headquarters burned.

The Writer was gone.

Every Version had fallen.

Only the Dreamer remained.

His future self slowly spoke.

Future Dreamer

"You failed."

The Dreamer stepped backward.

Future Dreamer

"You weren't strong enough."

The vision grew darker.

Nemesis stood behind the future Dreamer.

Not smiling.

Not attacking.

Simply watching.

Future Dreamer

"You feared becoming him..."

"...so you became nothing."

The Dreamer clenched his fists.

Dreamer

"No."

The vision laughed.

Future Dreamer

"Then prove it."

The Dreamer slowly raised his head.

His voice became calm.

Dreamer

"I don't need to become the strongest."

He took one step forward.

Dreamer

"I only need to become someone..."

"...who never gives up on people."

The mirror cracked.

Then exploded into countless fragments of light.

The entire Hall trembled.

The Writer smiled.

Writer

"You've passed."

Meanwhile...

Far beyond the Edition Universe...

Nemesis stood atop a mountain.

Snow fell silently around him.

Johan approached.

Johan

"They've grown."

Nemesis nodded.

Nemesis

"I can feel it."

Malice walked toward them.

Malice

"Five years remain."

The Shattered One quietly looked at the stars.

Shattered One

"They're almost ready."

Nemesis closed his eyes.

Nemesis

"So are we."

Back at Headquarters

The Hall of Reflections slowly closed.

Every Version had emerged different.

Not because they had become stronger...

But because they finally understood themselves.

The Writer looked toward the massive countdown clock.

It continued ticking.

5 YEARS REMAINING

The Writer whispered quietly.

Writer

"The second half begins..."

The camera slowly pulled away from the Headquarters.

Far beyond the mountains...

Four distant silhouettes watched in silence.

Neither side feared the coming battle anymore.

They welcomed it.
