Those fragments fused with the Beasts of that world and eventually gave birth to the race known as the Emnetwihts.
However, as the Emnetwiht population continued to increase, there were no longer enough soul fragments to sustain them all.
Worse still, those fragments gradually faded over time.
Without a solution, the Emnetwihts would eventually revert to their original Beast forms.
Faced with this crisis, some particularly clever people came up with a simple idea.
If there weren't enough soul fragments...
Why not kill the remaining Visitors?
Thus, the Hero organization was born.
The story's protagonist, Willem Kmetsch, was one of its trainee Heroes.
Moreover, his master was a Visitor.
Unfortunately, her soul composition wasn't pure enough to save humanity.
As a result, humanity set its sights on the final remaining Visitor.
The red-haired Elq Hrqstn.
A girl whose mental age was only around ten years old.
The final hope of her people.
Naturally, the last Visitor wasn't without protection.
The Visitor Guardians and the Three Poteau stood at her side.
The war that followed ended with Willem being petrified.
The skull that appeared in the anime was actually Ebon Candle, the last surviving member of the Three Poteau.
After fighting their way through countless battles, only Willem's junior disciple, Lillia Asplay, managed to reach Elq.
In the end, Lillia used the Holy Sword Seniorious, a weapon capable of bringing death to all things, to strike Elq and seal her away.
Of course, Elq never resisted.
Otherwise, nobody could have harmed her.
The tragedy was that although Elq's soul was shattered, it wasn't destroyed thoroughly enough.
The plan failed.
In the end, humanity still transformed back into Beasts.
The cruel truth of the setting was that humanity had been doomed from the very beginning.
