The quiet corridors of the retirement home echoed with the soft tapping of canes and the distant laughter of elderly residents.
Sunlight streamed through the windows, bathing the polished floor in a warm golden glow as Akira walked beside Toshinori, who remained in his usual skinny form.
His small hand rested comfortably in his dad's larger one as they followed the familiar figure of Sir Nighteye deeper into the building.
Akira glanced around curiously. 'An old age home...'
He had expected a gloomy atmosphere, but instead the place felt surprisingly lively.
Some elderly people chatted with each other, some played online games like Gta 8 and 9, while others simply relaxed with cups of coffee or coke in their hands. Akira wondered if there was something wrong with these old people, since they didn't seem like typical old grandpa or grandma.
Soon, the three of them stopped outside a large recreation room.
As the door slid open, Akira looked inside. Around ten elderly men and women were gathered there. Some sat comfortably on sofas while others remained in wheelchairs. A large television played a sports channel as they enthusiastically argued over it.
"I'm telling you, football isn't what it used to be!"
"Nonsense! The youngsters today are plenty talented."
"Hah! They can't compare to Messi Junior and Ronaldo Junior! Those boys were legends!"
"Exactly! Back in our day, that was real football!"
Akira's eyelid twitched. '...Wait.'
'Did Messi and Ronaldo become so famous after I died that even their descendants were named Messi Junior and Ronaldo Junior...?'
'Those poor kids...' He honestly didn't know whether to admire the dedication or feel sorry for them.
His strange train of thought was interrupted when Sir Nighteye stepped forward.
He cleared his throat politely. "Ahem." Only half the room reacted.
Several elderly residents continued their conversation without even turning around.
"..." Sir Nighteye sighed inwardly.
The people sitting beside them simply chuckled before gently patting their shoulders.
"Oi."
"Nighteye's trying to talk."
"Hm? Ah? What?" One old man adjusted his hearing aid. "What did you say? Lunch already?"
"No," another resident laughed. "He's introducing the kid."
"Ohhh."
Once everyone's attention had finally gathered, Sir Nighteye smiled faintly before resting a hand on Akira's head.
"As we discussed yesterday, I would once again like to thank everyone." He gave the elderly residents a respectful bow.
"Every one of you has willingly agreed to donate your Quirks to this child so he can grow into a hero."
"For that... you have my sincere gratitude."
The room immediately erupted into laughter.
"Oh, don't be so formal!"
"What gratitude?"
"It's not like we're using them anymore!"
An elderly woman waved dismissively. "My Quirk hasn't activated in almost ten years."
Another old man scratched his bald head. "Honestly, I sometimes forget I even have a Quirk."
"Nowadays my biggest battle is winning against these old fools in Mission completion in Gta 9! These bastard's don't even teach me how to complete that Helicopter mission."
"Hah! You cheat every single time we play mechanical chameleon!"
"It's called strategy!"
The room once again filled with cheerful laughter.
Akira couldn't help smiling a little. 'These people...Despite growing old...Despite retiring...They still carried such bright spirits.'
One elderly man raised a wrinkled hand. "I hardly used my Quirk during my career anyway. It had such an annoying activation requirement that I preferred solving problems the old-fashioned way."
He smiled warmly at Akira. "If it can help a young hero instead...I'd much rather let you have it."
Another elderly woman nodded in agreement. "That's right."
"Our generation protected society for decades."
"Now..." She looked at Akira with gentle eyes. "It's your generation's turn."
Akira quietly lowered his head. "...Thank you." His soft voice carried genuine gratitude.
"I'll treasure every Quirk entrusted to me."
Several old heroes smiled and laughed proudly. "That's exactly what we wanted to hear."
"Good kid."
Akira's attention shifted toward two elderly men who had laughed particularly hard.
Then—Plop.
Their entire set of teeth suddenly popped out of their mouths and landed directly onto the table.
"..."
"..."
Akira stared blankly. His eyes slowly moved from the fake dentures.....to the two completely unfazed old men.
One casually picked up his teeth.
"Oh dear."
"They fell out again."
The other sighed dramatically. "I told you not to laugh so hard."
"At our age everything falls off."
Akira could only sweatdrop. '...Old people are terrifying.'
Sir Nighteye gave Akira a small nod before stepping aside.
One of the elderly women chuckled as she waved him over. "Go on, dear. You can take our Quirks now."
She pointed toward the television where the football match had just returned from halftime. "We still have an important match to watch."
Another old man snorted. "If our Quirks can help a future hero, then stop wasting time and take them already. The second half is starting!"
The room burst into laughter. Akira smiled faintly before giving them a respectful bow.
"Thank you." He stepped forward and slowly raised his right hand.
The diamond-shaped hole in the center of his palm began radiating a crimson glow.
Scarlet lightning danced across his arm as the air around him became strangely heavy. The old heroes watched calmly. None of them looked frightened.
Black chains suddenly burst from the diamond-shaped opening.
Instead of whipping through the air violently, they glided silently toward the elderly residents. Each chain stopped before a person's forehead.
Then...Without touching their skin...The chains gently phased through their foreheads as though they were intangible.
Akira closed his eyes. Inside his mind, he could feel ten different presences.
Each one unique. Each one carrying decades of memories, battles, and experiences.
He reached toward those presences with his will. The extraction lasted only five seconds.
One after another, the chains emerged from the elderly heroes and civilians foreheads. Held at the tip of each chain was a glowing sphere of different colours.
Ten different Quirk Souls floated gently before Akira. He slowly clenched his fist. Immediately, the black chains trembled.
Their colour shifted as Black became white.
The coloured Quirk Souls also began glowing brighter before every trace of colour disappeared from them.
Each sphere became a pure white orb. Akira had purified them.
Every trace of the previous owner's soul had been gently washed away, leaving behind blank slates that could be reshaped into entirely new beings.
The white chains quietly retracted back into the diamond-shaped hole in his palm, carrying the purified Quirk Souls with them.
The crimson glow faded and Everything returned to normal.
The elderly residents simply touched their foreheads for a second.
"Hm."
"Feels a little lighter."
"Guess that's that."
Without another thought, they turned their wheelchairs back toward the television.
"Oh! The second half started!"
"Pass the ball!"
"You idiot! Shoot already!"
Within seconds, every one of them was completely invested in the football match again.
Akira couldn't help smiling. '...They're really amazing.'
Even after giving away something as precious as their Quirks...They simply continued enjoying life without regrets.
All Might walked over and rested a hand on Akira's shoulder. "How do you feel, son?"
Akira closed his eyes for a brief moment. He felt the ten newly acquired Quirk Souls settle inside the vast space of All For One.
When he opened his eyes again, they shone with excitement.
"I feel great." A small smile spread across his face. "I can't wait to upgrade them."
His consciousness briefly examined each of the newly acquired Quirks.
Crystal
Type: Transformation
Allows the user to transform their body into durable crystal while freely shaping and manipulating crystal structures. The user can also generate crystals from surrounding surfaces and control them at will. The crystal body possesses remarkable resistance against both extreme heat and freezing temperatures. By refracting light through the crystals, the user can temporarily blind opponents or create dazzling visual distractions. However, powerful vibrations or sonic attacks can crack or shatter the crystal structures.
Rubber Body
Type: Transformation
Transforms the user's body into rubber, granting tremendous elasticity and flexibility. The user's limbs can stretch, bounce and twist in numerous ways, making conventional blunt attacks largely ineffective. However, piercing attacks remain highly dangerous. The body is also sensitive to extreme temperatures, and inexperienced users risk injuring themselves through uncontrolled recoil if they stretch beyond their limits.
Enhancement Aura
Type: Emitter
The user releases a white aura that enhances every physical attribute by a factor of ten. Strength, speed, durability, reflexes and stamina all receive an enormous increase while the aura remains active.
Eagle Wings
Type: Mutant
Grants the user a magnificent pair of eagle wings capable of sustained high-speed flight. The wings also greatly improve aerial mobility and provide exceptionally sharp eyesight while airborne.
Fox
Type: Mutant
Allows the user to possess the physical characteristics and instincts of a fox. Their agility, balance, hearing, smell and reflexes are all enhanced considerably, making them excellent trackers and evasive fighters.
Energy Conversion
Type: Emitter
Converts external impact force or absorbed heat into usable energy. The accumulated energy can either be stored within the body for later use, released as destructive energy beams, or redirected to temporarily amplify the user's physical abilities.
Frying Pan
Type: Transformation
An unusual Quirk that allows the user to transform strands of their hair into sturdy frying pans. Once detached, the frying pans can be telekinetically controlled, allowing them to fly independently for both offense and defense.
Sinful Blessing
Type: Emitter
Whenever the user commits an action considered sinful—such as lying, insulting someone, causing harm, killing, or deliberately provoking others—they generate a unique form of energy that automatically heals their injuries. Greater sins produce greater healing, making the Quirk exceptionally dangerous in the hands of someone without morals.
Thought Acceleration
Type: Emitter
Allows the user's brain to process information ten times faster than an ordinary human. Their thinking speed, calculations, reaction planning and decision-making abilities are all accelerated tremendously, although the body itself does not automatically move faster.
Photosynthesis
Type: Mutant
The user absorbs sunlight to regenerate their body. Minor injuries may heal within seconds under strong sunlight, while severe wounds require significantly longer exposure. Regenerating lost limbs is possible, although it may require months of continuous sunlight depending on the extent of the damage.
