Chapter 112 - The Last Prophet Of Earth

Part Three

By late afternoon, the summons finally came.

Not publicly.

A quiet invitation.

He entered the main hall alone.

Seven elders.

No welcoming ceremony.

No hostility.

Measured distance.

Elder Rui spoke calmly.

"What occurred yesterday cannot be undone."

"No," Zheng Wen Te agreed.

"You were not harmed."

"No."

"You were not empowered."

"No."

A faint tightening around several eyes.

Rui leaned forward slightly.

"Then tell us plainly—what changed?"

The hall felt smaller.

Not from pressure.

From expectation.

Zheng Wen Te considered his answer carefully.

"Heaven no longer stands only above."

A ripple passed through the elders.

"What does that mean?" Elder Han pressed.

"It means dialogue has been established."

"And you believe that places you equal?"

He met the elder's gaze steadily.

"No."

Silence thickened.

"Equality is not granted. It is enacted."

The words settled like a blade placed gently on a table.

No threat.

But sharp.

Elder Rui studied him for a long time.

Finally—

"You will not be elevated."

A pause.

"You will not be suppressed."

Another pause.

"You will remain where you are."

Calculated neutrality.

But the message beneath it was clear.

They would observe.

Contain without confinement.

Test without declaring it a test.

Zheng Wen Te bowed lightly.

Not to authority.

To acknowledgment of structure.

As he turned to leave—

Elder Han spoke one final sentence.

"If Heaven speaks again… you will report it immediately."

He did not stop walking.

"If Heaven asks again," he replied evenly, "it will not be about you."

The hall fell silent behind him.

Outside, the sky was clear.

But something invisible had shifted.

He was no longer merely a cultivator navigating realms.

He was now a variable in governance.

And variables, once introduced—

Alter equations permanently.
