Dixon clearly did not like Lucien Cole for several reasons, although Lina had no idea what any of those reasons were. Perhaps it was simply instinct. Perhaps it was because of the strange way Lucien had been looking at her ever since they arrived at the hotel. Or perhaps Dixon had his own opinion about Lucien that had nothing to do with Lina at all.
Whatever the reason, he only gave Lucien a brief, cold nod before turning his attention away.
The lift immediately fell silent.
The three of them stood inside the enclosed space, with Lina caught between two men whose expressions appeared calm but whose presence made the atmosphere increasingly strange.
Lina tried her best to ignore it.
Unfortunately, that became difficult when she noticed Lucien looking at her.
He was not simply glancing at her.
He was staring.
