Back with Quinn's group.
Quinn and his team were now facing an entire field full of legendary beasts.
Sil: Well, this is an interesting situation. Can we take on this many at once? I know that we're stronger than before, but there seems to be a tad too much for us.
Quinn: Despite how overwhelming these creatures are, we're more than capable of taking them on. So far, our group has taken on creatures that are far higher level than our own and survived, and these creatures are only supposed to be one level above us. So yes, we can take them on. And we have the levels to do it.
Erin: I am kind of curious. Why exactly are we just going through levels? So quickly and so effectively does seem like we're power-leveling far faster, and also, what are these levels equivalent to in ability levels are.
Vinson: Good question, and the answer to that is the equivalent here of the beasts you're facing again. Since you guys are taking on legendaries that are one level above you, your levels are close to the equivalent of the actual tier of beasts you're facing. For every 5 levels of yours you gain, you reach a new level of ability. So once you guys reach level 40, you have reached the level 8 ability level. Now, your ability should be getting stronger as well. Even without books, you probably have noticed it.
Layla: Yes, I have noticed that. I thought that was rather weird. I couldn't understand why I was suddenly learning new stuff about my ability and able to do things that I wasn't able to do before.
Erin: taking a moment to realize that she's been able to do stuff far better with her ice ability than she was able to do before that; she was actually a higher ability user now, and she didn't even realize it.
As they noticed the other classmates leaving, as soon as they were gone, a rumble occurred. In the distance, they could see the legendaries, all heading straight for them before they could react in time; they were surrounded. It was easily 81 Legendary Beasts.
Erin: I guess we're all gonna have some good kills today. May the best number of kills win the game.
Layla: Is this the time to be messing around? We're surrounded by beasts; we're clearly in quite a bit of trouble. Yes, they're only slightly stronger than ours, but still there are 81 of them here, and you want to make this into a competition.
As she proceeds to glare at Erin
Quinn: I'm sure that we are more than capable of taking on these creatures.
Vincent: Alright, remember your teamwork; watch each other's backs carefully. Make sure that you don't let the creatures try to nail you, and we'll get through this together.
Peter: Honestly, at this point I've lost count. The number of heart-inducing problems this group has caused. We've been closer to near-death situations than I feel comfortable with, but somehow we're still here. We're still making it, and I'm the one with the weakest abilities here.
Sil: Oh, don't say that; you didn't even realize how much stronger you've gotten. Everyone has gained strength each time. You gained 6 more levels; you've gone up and strengthened your ability as well. I don't think you realized it, but every one of us is now stronger. I've been very carefully counting the levels, and I can tell you by just touching your ability that every one of us is now at level 8 in ability. So we are much stronger than you may think. You just don't have the experience with your ability that your level requires. You are now a level 7 metal Ability user.
Back with the Tsukuru group.
Silver: Alright. This looks like a good area. There are a few king-tier floating around, but the creatures should be too hard to deal with; they're going to be tough for a lot of you. So please be prepared for sure yourselves.
Licht: floating cows. Well, I guess it's not pig flying, but it's close enough.
Tsukuru: For all The Times to say such a thing, you picked now to say that, and how does a cow count as a pig?
Silver: Do You 2 have to start joking at this point in time? We got some serious stuff to do. You guys are just making fun of the Beast that we're about to defeat. A lot of these students are not fully prepared to take on such creatures at this tier, so there's going to be a lot of group cooperation going on. So can you please try to help?
As Silver's class moves out and begins engaging the creatures, working in teams instead of just individual groups, they started taking the King-tier creatures down one at a time, slowly, but they were starting to get better with the coordination of a certain person. At his army of summons
Licht: This feels a little cheaty to do all this. I mean, having all of those guys, that seems a bit overkill.
Tsukuru: What's nonsense? My summons are more than capable of being supported characters, and we work great. None of this is cheating; I'm allowed to use these tools to my greatest extent, and my summon allies are effective. So why would this be considered cheating? When this is all effective, and also these beasts start leveling every single one of these guys, so they're just getting benefits if they didn't get all the support, then they're all gonna get slaughtered by these creatures. So it's better than just fighting an uneven battle.
Silver: Despite how uneven the levels are, the class as a whole is gaining levels, but the imbalance that you are claiming is slowly disappearing. You can check for yourself and see what level everyone is at; a lot of their watchers are now showing that they're catching up to you guys real quickly. And your strength isn't going to matter much longer anyhow, but they're still a little coordinated and not experienced enough to fight everything.
I will think about trying to send all of these groups out. At this rate, they're going to get so much stronger individually, or you'd be able to migrate the entire class to an area where there are a little bit harder creatures to fight.
Back with Minx group.
Minx: Alright, everyone, set up here. We'll start planning our attack pattern for the creatures up ahead. But we're far enough away right now that we're fine; they won't really notice us, but if we get any closer, they're going to get agitated and attack us.
CIA: Hey, can you please keep up with the timing? I kind of want to get around and not be your personal backpack. Anymore.
Minx: What? Why would I let you down? I'm enjoying having my backpack. You work great as a fuzzy companion.
CIA: Begins grumbling over here in this news, wandering to herself. Am I ever going to be free to be myself and not a stuffed animal?
Has the group progressed through the area there in the distance? A demon Level.
Minx: Alright, group, let's get ready to go and deal with this threat. Move out.
CIA. Suddenly gets dropped on the ground, rolling away.
CIA. What in the world? Could I get some warning next time? So we're fighting now.
Everyone starts moving into position and begins attacking the Beast.
Back with Quinn's group.
They begin watching attacks from the legendary creatures that are attacking them.
Quinn: You know, I was expecting to be fighting such uneven odds against such horrifying amounts of creatures. But at least these guys are not super difficult; it's just obnoxious trying to fight so many of these guys at once.
Erin: It's not that bad. This feels great. There's plenty of kills for us to go around, and I'm getting plenty of strength from each one of these creatures. I'm sure we can handle it all alone in time. We're more capable of doing .it
Layla: Speak for yourself. This is exhausting; I'm trying to do everything I can to fight these creatures. And I'm not able to go into full strength. This subclass of mine is supposed to be even stronger, but I don't even know how to use it all.
Vincent: Oh yes, I've been meaning to get you that book. But I guess this is not the time for that. They'll have to wait until later, but you're doing all right. Keep it up, guys; we have almost all of the finish at this point in time.
Sil: Well, despite how uneven the odds are right now. We seem to be doing just fine, but this is not a picnic for us. There's a lot of them to burn down, and I'm not sure we have enough steam to get through all of them, but we're still managing somehow.
A bit later in the battle.
Peter. Finally, that's the last of them. I thought I was going to fall apart. Even with this subclass, this is still difficult. I wish I knew more about it, for us being unique classes. We sure don't know what we're doing. Vincent, aren't you supposed to be teaching us how to operate these abilities of ours?
Vincent: Yeah, about that. I guess I'll have to get the books necessary for you guys to learn all this stuff well. At least this will be the last of the major training until the major competitions kick on.
Isabella: Luckily enough, I do have information here in the system to inform the rest of you, but I'm a little disappointed in Vincent; as the elder of the family, I would expect better.
Vincent: begins whistling and walking away, pretending that he didn't hear what she said.
As the fight progresses, a tragedy has occurred with Kazz's class.
Why are we so afraid of all these beasts? We're the strongest of all of them; we could take all these beasts on
Kazz: Wait, you can't take them on. They'll destroy you all. Don't do this, you fools; you're all gonna get killed.
The students began rushing out and attacking the creature before they got to the easier area. Instead of following their teacher back to where it's safe, they decided to detour and take on a piece that is clearly too powerful and their own best interest.
Casualty report.
5 teams, Paris, due to overacting creatures causing fatalities of all students; Kazz's class remaining student count: 5.
Back with Silver's class.
Alright, everyone, hold your line. Don't let them break through, and we almost have them. Keep them back.
As the students are facing the horrors of beasts, one of the students gets picked off and dragged out into the middle of the open. Run right through.
Those idiots, I said, hold the lines; don't let them punch through. We can't break these lines, or these creatures will drag us away and kill us.
As the final day, as the outing comes to an end, the groups begin migrating back, and there, in some parts of the wall, we're seeing damage from the Beast horse.
Silver: Well, I guess they interested those hordes a little bit too much. It caused quite a bit of damage, but at least they had their fun for a bit.
All the groups had returned; some seemed to be less than normal.
Ray. It looks like you guys lost quite a few of your students. What happened out there?
Silver. Some of them got a little too rambunctious and decided not to listen, and got themselves picked off and perished out there. We were able to recover some of them, but we lost about 5 students due to hotheadedness
Kazz. Well, if that was bad for you, I think stupidity was the result for the majority of the students in my class; they didn't really want to listen. They were too eager to show off how powerful they are, and they perished for it. I lost 25 students because of all that.
Arthur. Well, you all did as well as you could. I'm sorry that some of the students perished, but That's what happens when you overextend yourself and try to prove your knowledge and skill. All right, everyone, start preparing to head back.
