Chapter 273 - Chapter 273: Visiting The Burrow

Two days later, in the latest letters Amanda and Hermione received, Ron said his mother had invited them to stay at The Burrow for a couple of days, and then they could all go to Diagon Alley together once the booklists for the new Hogwarts school year arrived.

Looking at the letters in their hands, Amanda and Hermione readily agreed to the idea.

Since it was summer break and the children were out of school anyway, Mr. and Mrs. Granger had started to get busy.

God and Merlin knew exactly how many children came to the clinic during summer break to deal with cavities.

Regarding this matter, Mr. and Mrs. Granger didn't feel even a shred of joy from making money; instead, they expressed deep concern for the dental health of British children.

"If parents don't strictly control their children's sugar intake, I'm afraid we won't be able to find a single child in Britain without dental problems soon," Mrs. Granger lamented one day after pulling teeth for nearly fifteen children.

Mr. Granger explained the issue from another perspective. "If this keeps up, there definitely won't be enough dentists in Britain. Good God, just how much sugar do those children eat every day?"

On the afternoon they received the letters, Amanda and Hermione packed their bags after handling matters in the Muggle World. After letting Mr. and Mrs. Granger know—who had just finished work—they traveled to The Burrow via the Floo Network.

Just as they stepped out of the fireplace, Amanda and Hermione were pulled into a warm embrace.

Mrs. Weasley hugged the two girls tightly, patting their backs with one hand each.

"Oh, welcome to The Burrow! Fred and George are living in Diagon Alley now, so you can stay in their room."

After saying this, Mrs. Weasley released them and looked at Amanda with a smile. "I want to specifically thank you, Amanda. You supported Fred and George in pursuing their dreams. I never imagined they actually had a talent for business."

Amanda shook her head with a gentle smile. "My help was only secondary, Mrs. Weasley."

"Fred and George are quick-witted. The various novelty items they've designed are very popular; that is the biggest reason for their success."

"Furthermore, I specifically instructed them that they cannot neglect their studies."

As Amanda spoke, she gave Mrs. Weasley a mischievous wink. Mrs. Weasley happily ruffled the top of Amanda's head.

"Alright, let Ginny take you to your room. Ginny?"

"Coming, coming!"

Accompanied by a cheerful shout, Ginny came thumping down the stairs. A joyful smile appeared on her face when she saw Amanda and Hermione.

"Amanda, Hermione, good afternoon."

"Good afternoon, Ginny." Amanda and Hermione nodded in greeting. Ginny led them up to the third floor and opened Fred and George's room.

"This is the room where you'll be staying. We've already cleaned it, but you should still be careful. No one knows if Fred and George might have hidden some joke products somewhere."

"Okay, thank you." Amanda nodded in response. With a gentle wave of her right hand, her and Hermione's suitcases automatically opened, and various items flew to their designated spots.

"Household Charms really is useful." Watching this, Amanda couldn't help but sigh in admiration. It was well worth the half-hour she had spent reading that book on Household Charms.

"Whoa..." Ginny's eyes instantly lit up at the sight. "Amanda, is this Household Charms easy to learn?"

If she could learn this, she could slack off a bit the next time her mother asked her to help with the cleaning.

"I think it's quite easy to learn." Amanda shrugged and reached into the pile of books that had just flown to the bedside table. She pulled out a thick tome and handed it to Ginny. The heavy weight made the girl's hands sink slightly.

"Household Magic All-in-One," Amanda introduced the book with a smile. "It records all kinds of Household Charms."

"Thanks, Amanda," Ginny said, swallowing hard as she looked at the thick tome in her hands. "I'll probably have to spend several weeks learning these spells."

Amanda shrugged and didn't say anything more. Hermione, however, looked at Ginny after organizing the books and documents she had brought.

"Where are Harry and Ron? Aren't they at The Burrow too? Or did they go out to play?"

"They didn't go out," Ginny said, laughing gleefully at the mention of the two boys. "After inviting you, they started frantically catching up on their homework. They're in their room right now, writing away furiously."

"Oh... that's not a surprising result at all." Hermione raised a hand to rub her forehead.

"That's very Harry, and very Ron," Amanda commented as well.

After chatting with Ginny for a bit longer, Amanda and Hermione went straight to the room where Harry and Ron were. After a polite knock, the two girls pushed the door open and entered.

"I heard you're catching up on homework?"

Hermione walked over and leaned down to look at the assignments on the desk in front of Harry and Ron.

"Ginny told you, didn't she?" Ron looked up at Hermione with dissatisfaction. "How is this 'catching up'? The deadline hasn't even passed yet. We are simply doing our homework."

"Fine, doing your homework," Hermione nodded as if coaxing a child. She pointed to a word in the essay in front of Ron. "This is spelled wrong."

"What? Oh, so it is."

Ron lowered his head to correct the mistake. Harry, meanwhile, set down his quill and turned to look at Amanda and Hermione.

"How has the situation been lately? The Daily Prophet is always reporting gossip; there's no information about Death Eaters or Voldemort."

"That's because there's nothing worth reporting." Hermione pulled Amanda to sit on the bed behind the two boys.

"All of Voldemort's and the Death Eaters' attacks have been timely and effectively prevented. There hasn't been a single casualty."

"Except for the Death Eaters," Amanda said, smoothing her long hair. "We can't exactly report how many Death Eaters are killed every day in The Daily Prophet."

The Ministry of Magic is, after all, the official governing body of the British Wizarding World. Reporting like that would seem too brutal and would damage their image.

"Well, that's good news." Harry seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, relaxing back into his chair.

"Relax, Harry," Hermione said, putting an arm around Amanda's waist. "The situation in the Wizarding World is completely different from ten years ago. There's nothing to worry about."

"In fact, in a little while, the situation in the Muggle World will be even more lively than here."

"Hmm?" Harry frowned in confusion, thinking hard. But no matter how much he racked his brain, he couldn't imagine anyone in the Muggle World more difficult to deal with or more terrifying than Voldemort.

"The United States has been working on the request to withdraw their garrison from Britain, but they've been stalling. Also, leaving the EU and by has been facing external resistance."

"So Amanda and I are planning to have the peace-class sky continent fire a secondary cannon at the ocean in a couple of days—the day after tomorrow at the latest. The whole Muggle World will be very lively then."

As Hermione spoke, she tickled Amanda's chin with her finger. Amanda didn't show any dissatisfaction at being teased like a cat by her lover; instead, she narrowed her eyes comfortably.

"Good decision, good decision..."

Harry closed his eyes to stop himself from looking at the scene before him. He turned back toward his homework with his eyes shut and resumed writing furiously.

After sitting for a while longer, Amanda and Hermione went downstairs. They entered the kitchen to help Mrs. Weasley and Ginny prepare dinner.

After all, between the Weasleys and the two of them, the number of people was visibly large. They couldn't let Mrs. Weasley prepare dinner for so many people all by herself.

It wasn't until dinner was ready that Mr. Weasley and Bill returned home from work. Bill also brought someone along whom both Amanda and Hermione knew.

One of the contestants from their fourth-year Triwizard Tournament, Fleur Delacour.

"She's Bill's girlfriend now," Ginny whispered to Amanda and Hermione, leaning in slightly. "But Mom and I don't really like her."

"Still, Bill likes her, and that's enough," Ginny added with a sigh. At the end of the day, she was her brother's girlfriend; if her brother liked her, then so be it.

Amanda shook her head with a smile. "Ginny, although Fleur can be a bit blunt at times, she has a very resilient and loyal personality. Once you spend more time with her, you'll probably grow to like her."

Ginny and Fleur's personalities would certainly clash upon first meeting, but after spending time together, that might not be the case.

"Well, I hope that day comes," Ginny said, nodding reluctantly as she accepted the explanation.

"Mr. Weasley, Bill, good evening." Amanda and Hermione stepped forward to greet them politely, receiving a warm welcome from both Mr. Weasley and Bill.

Mr. Weasley, in particular, was now delighted whenever he saw these two girls.

"Ever since Hermione took office as the Minister for Magic, the Ministry's efficiency has been getting higher and higher. Now, almost all work can be finished in a single morning."

"In the afternoon, we only need to handle new matters as they arise." Everyone in the Ministry was smiling more while working now.

"It's all thanks to Amanda."

Hermione patted Amanda's shoulder with a smile. With such a literal supercomputer around, how could the Ministry's work not be processed quickly?

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the sumptuous dinner began. Steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and other foods allowed everyone to have a wonderful meal.

After dinner, everyone chatted for a while longer before heading off to rest.

Amanda and Hermione lay in bed together. Amanda turned and snuggled into Hermione's embrace, and Hermione held her tightly.

"Goodnight, my darling."

Hermione lowered her head and gently kissed Amanda's earlobe, whispering softly.

Feeling the soft touch on her ear and the warm, moist air, Amanda's face involuntarily reddened slightly in the moonlight.

"Goodnight, Hermione."

Under the bright white moonlight, the two girls slept in each other's arms until the moon set in the west and the morning sun rose in the east, at which point they opened their eyes once more.

After kissing each other and saying good morning, Amanda and Hermione went downstairs for breakfast.

While eating breakfast, Hermione remembered a document she had reviewed a couple of days ago and couldn't help but get nervous. "I think the O.W.L.s Exam results are being delivered today!"

"Hmm? Right, it should be today," Harry said, looking up from his bread. "Principal Dumbledore mentioned it when he dropped me off."

"Merlin," Hermione said, anxiously twirling her hair with her finger. "I wonder if I did well."

Ron looked at her with an indescribable expression. "Hermione, do you even need to wonder about your grades? Is there any possibility other than 'Outstanding' across the board?"

"Besides," Ron took a large gulp of pumpkin juice from the glass next to him, "you're the Minister for Magic now. If you're not satisfied with the grades, you can just have them change them."

Hermione's brow twitched violently as she gave Ron a sharp glare. "Even if I am the Minister for Magic, I cannot use my privilege, Ron. This is just my job. Power is for serving the ordinary people of the Wizarding World; it is not something that belongs to me."

"Alright, alright," Ron raised his hands. "My mistake. What I said was inappropriate."

Hermione raised an eyebrow and looked away. Amanda leaned over and gently kissed the corner of her lips.

"Don't worry, Hermione. Your grades will definitely be great."

"I hope so." Hermione took a deep breath, hoping her O.W.L.s Exam results would arrive before she had to go to work at the Ministry.

Perhaps Merlin heard Hermione's wish, or perhaps the Ministry staff thought their Minister Granger might want to see her results before work.

The O.W.L.s Exam results for Amanda, Hermione, Harry, and Ron arrived before they had even finished breakfast.

Amanda quickly opened her envelope and nodded in satisfaction at her straight 'Outstanding' grades.

Although she wasn't as obsessively fixated on studying and grades anymore, getting good results was still something to be happy about.

She turned to look at Hermione, who had just calmed herself down and was opening her envelope to take out the report card.

Reaching out to put an arm around Hermione's waist, Amanda rested her head on Hermione's shoulder and looked at the report card.

Except for Defense Against the Dark Arts, which was 'Exceeds Expectations,' everything else was 'Outstanding.'

Hermione slowly let out a breath, a satisfied smile appearing as she leaned back to nuzzle Amanda's cheek.

"These grades are pretty good; I'm satisfied. And it's clear the Ministry examiners didn't give me any special treatment because of my position."

After all, there really were some minor flaws in her Defense Against the Dark Arts exam; she knew that herself.

If she had gotten a perfect score in that subject, then there would have truly been a problem.

"You got all 'Outstandings,' didn't you?"

Hermione turned around and pulled her lover into her arms, lowering her head to kiss her cheek repeatedly.

"Yes." Amanda closed her eyes and nodded.

"I knew it. My Amanda is the best."

The smile on Hermione's face widened as she leaned down to kiss Amanda's lips.

"Mm, Hermione's... me... is the best," Amanda responded softly, murmuring unclearly.
