Chapter 270 - Old

Andreas only told Malygos about the lack of magic power in Blue Wing Roost, and did not specifically mention Senegos's plight.

Seeing the decadent state of the stubborn old fellow with whom he had constantly argued due to differing philosophies, Malygos' initially excited mood became quite subdued.

Having lived long-term in an environment lacking magic power, Senegos's body had inevitably suffered damage, and it would take at least 1,000 years to slowly recover, and this was only a preliminary estimate.

Compared to his own erratic behavior wandering around outside in previous years, Malygos felt somewhat ashamed.

Even after regaining his senses, he had devoted most of his attention to searching for the missing Deathwing, and had clearly neglected the education and discipline of the new generation of Blue Dragons in Crystalsong Forest.

Unlike himself, who was immersed in hatred, Senegos chose to work steadily to secure a future for the Blue Dragonflight; the hundreds of Young Dragons and Whelps in Blue Wing Roost were the result of his efforts.

"Sigh..."

Suddenly losing the mood to argue, Malygos said with a depressed tone, "Regarding the past... I was wrong. My mind wasn't clear back then, don't take it to heart."

Senegos raised his head in surprise. He hadn't expected the formerly arrogant Malygos to have truly recovered quite a bit, becoming capable of using his mind instead of being solely dominated by hatred.

"...Forget it. I was also wrong. Why argue with someone whose mind wasn't clear?"

Senegos shook his head and said with some melancholy, "Take these children away. Blue Wing Roost cannot sustain their future, and their future must not be delayed by the personal obsession of an old stubborn fool like me."

Although Sthragosza still harbored caution toward Malygos, under the gentle persuasion of her grandfather Senegos, she finally chose to trust Malygos, taking the Whelps and Young Dragons of Blue Wing Roost through the portal to Crystalsong Forest.

Watching the two adult Blue Dragons help the weak Senegos enter the portal, Andreas let out a long breath. "Finally, one more matter is settled. Now we can continue our journey in peace."

"Andreas."

Malygos, who was maintaining the portal, said solemnly, "I owe you another favor. Tell me whatever request you have; I will definitely help if I can accomplish it."

Andreas smiled and shook his head. "It was just a small effort. I don't have any important matters that require your assistance right now."

"Then I will keep it noted for now. I will definitely repay this favor in the future."

Malygos didn't waste words with Andreas. After saying this, he stepped into the portal. The formerly bustling Blue Wing Roost was left with only a dozen Blue Dragons who had been transferred from The Nexus to establish a garrison, and more than 100 Dragonkin.

"Mmm~"

Stretching his body, Andreas said cheerfully, "Let's go. We'll take a break in Valsharah. You will definitely love that forest which preserves the original appearance of Azeroth."

...Valsharah was the shared hometown of Andreas and Shandris. As their status within the country rose, the ancestral homes of the Moonshadow Family and the moonglade clan in Lorathil underwent countless renovations and have now become one of the important local tourist attractions.

Andreas and the others did not intend to stay in a residence where symbolic significance outweighed practical use. The group continued flying north on Onyxia's back, only landing when they reached the foot of the World Tree Shaladrassil.

Andreas introduced the location to everyone, "This is The Dreamwood, a transit point between the Emerald Dream and the Material World. Let's use this as our temporary base."

At this time, The Dreamwood had not yet received much attention, with only a dozen Druids stationed there to guard the portals leading to the various World Tree nodes.

This was Aurora's first time seeing such a beautiful forest retreat outside of the Emerald Dream. She quickly pulled Leticia to go exploring and seek out mysteries.

Thanks to the diligent patrols of Malfurion and the other Druids, no areas polluted by the Old Gods have been discovered in the Emerald Dream yet, and the current World Tree is very safe.

Andreas' family lived in seclusion in Valsharah for over a year. Living outside of court politics, Andreas gained a deep and detailed understanding of the region.

Due to historical issues, the Night Elf Republic has two large settlements in Valsharah: Black Rook Hold and Lorathil.

Most residents in Lorathil are commoners. The town has a good degree of openness to the outside world, maintaining trade with the Tauren of Highmountain, and even connecting with some Vrykul tribes in Stormheim via the Suramar region.

In contrast, Black Rook Hold appeared very closed off under the management of Elisana Ravencrest.

Most residents in Black Rook Hold are Highborne. While the relationship between them and Lorathil is not tense, they generally do not initiate much contact unless necessary.

"Historical issues... huh?"

Andreas scratched his head and said helplessly, "I didn't expect that coming out on vacation would unexpectedly reveal small hidden dangers I hadn't noticed before."

Andreas and Shandris sat on a grassy hill within The Dreamwood, from where they could see the outline of Black Rook Hold across a strait in the distance.

Shandris looped her arm through her husband's and rested her head on his shoulder. "What do you plan to do? Elisana is a bit set in her ways; convincing her to open up Black Rook Hold probably won't be easy."

"That's exactly the problem," Andreas said, spreading his hands. "When the Night Elf Republic was first established, I promised her that Black Rook Hold would maintain a relatively independent management model."

"But thousands of years have passed, and Black Rook Hold not only failed to develop but is also showing signs of decline due to its isolation. She must be quite anxious herself."

"If I'm not mistaken, we should meet with her directly soon. We can discuss it then."

...Andreas kept the issue of Black Rook Hold in mind, reserving it for a detailed discussion when the right opportunity arose.

Upon arriving near Highmountain, Andreas suddenly recalled an old matter he had forgotten for many years.

"My younger brother?" Onyxia asked, looking bewildered. "What brother? I only have one older brother among my direct blood relatives of the same generation."

"Well... that's a long story."

Andreas told Onyxia the whole story of how Hoon Highmountain had rescued the little Black Dragon back then. Excitement gradually flashed in the Black Dragon Princess' eyes.

"So, this younger brother of mine, who lives in the Mortal World, received a lot of education regarding management since childhood, and is still serving as the spiritual leader of the Tauren in Highmountain?"

Andreas didn't quite understand where the excitement on Onyxia's face came from, but he still nodded. "The caravans traveling between Lorathil and Thunder Totem mentioned him. I only remembered him after hearing traveling merchants mention his name."

"Now, his name in Thunder Totem is Blackhorn, and he is called the Soulwalker by the Tauren. He is responsible for guiding the growth of the new generation of Tauren, telling them about the heroic deeds and history of Hoon Highmountain and their many ancestors... colloquially known as bragging."

Andreas still remembers Blackhorn's bragging about Hoon. In Blackhorn's telling, this Tauren Great Chieftain was so strong that he could even block a portal to prevent Demons from coming out.

In fact, while Hoon's combat power was considerable, he was definitely not as formidable as Blackhorn made him out to be; the stories contained a lot of Blackhorn's personal subjective opinions.

After all, he was rescued by Hoon from the brink of corruption and raised by him since childhood, so it was not surprising that he held a filial affection for Hoon, treating him like a father.

Onyxia said, rubbing her hands together excitedly, "Then what are we waiting for? We've explored Valsharah enough. Let's set off for Highmountain!"
