Chapter 268 - Heroic Father

Senegos had lost contact with Dragon Rest Temple ever since he left Crystalsong Forest. Onyxia didn't even know he existed.

Onyxia looked at the slow-moving old dragon with some confusion. "I am indeed Onyxia, but... have I seen you before?"

"Hoho~"

Senegos said with a chuckle, "When I left Northrend, you were still a newly hatched Whelp. Considering the feud between the Blue Dragonflight and the Black Dragonflight, it's normal that you don't recognize me, Princess Onyxia."

Onyxia was even more baffled. "Since you know the grievances between the Black and Blue Dragons, why..."

Senegos shook his head with a smile. "The crimes committed by Neltharion only represent himself and have nothing to do with other innocent black dragons. That was the biggest disagreement I had with that madman back then."

Just after the War of the Ancients ended, the grief-stricken Malygos hated everything associated with the cause. Because of Deathwing, he hated the entire Black Dragonflight and clamored to eliminate all black dragons to avenge the Blue Dragonflight.

Senegos firmly opposed his mindset of killing the innocent. The two Ancient Dragons of the same era had come to blows in Crystalsong Forest many times over this.

Relying on his power as the Aspect, Malygos would pin Senegos to the ground and pummel him every time, but Senegos wasn't without the power to fight back. It was all too common for the two of them to punch each other's eyes black.

Over time, the weary Senegos finally gave up on trying to persuade a madman. Unable to stand Malygos' behavior, he simply left Crystalsong Forest, out of sight, out of mind.

Onyxia was stunned for a moment. "So such a thing happened back then. In that case, His Majesty Malygos is considered quite rational now."

Although Malygos still held a great prejudice against black dragons, at most, he merely turned a blind eye to the black dragons staying in the Obsidian Sanctum, like Sinestra, without the intention of attacking them on sight.

"Oh?"

Senegos asked in surprise, "That madman actually regained his sanity? That's truly rare."

Andreas took over the conversation and said, "Only partially. We moved Sindragosa's remains from Icecrown Glacier back to Dragonblight for burial. Malygos, who had been mad for thousands of years, finally regained a portion of his sanity."

"Sindragosa..."

Senegos let out a deep sigh. "The most enlightened and inclusive Dragon Queen of the Blue Dragonflight. She and the once wise and charismatic Malygos were once considered a match made in heaven. Unfortunately... fate toys with people."

Shaking his head, Senegos cast aside his reminiscence of the past. His dragon pupils, emitting a faint Arcane glow, stared at Andreas and asked, "Little fellow, I think I understand what you mean. You want me to take the children back to Crystalsong Forest, don't you?"

It was convenient to speak with smart people. Andreas nodded with a smile and said, "Exactly. After His Majesty Malygos regained his clarity, he has been worried about the future of the Blue Dragonflight."

"Because of His Majesty Malygos' personal reasons, the quantity and quality of the new generation of Blue Dragons bred in The Nexus during the thousands of years of chaos did not meet expectations. At least... they can't compare to this habitat you've established in Azsuna."

That brat Kalecgos was a typical example. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, the Blue Dragonflight had completely spoiled him. If even someone of this level could be considered the hope of the Blue Dragons, one could imagine the future of the new generation of Blue Dragons in The Nexus.

However, since Malygos' return, his management intensity over the new generation of Blue Dragons in The Nexus had clearly increased.

Coupled with the long-term correction from the 'Great Demon King' Chromie, it was said that after Kalecgos gradually grew up, he became much more steady and mature than when he was a child... although he would still occasionally make some speechless mistakes.

Senegos said with a bitter smile, "Don't flatter me. Even if I reduced the mana I needed, these children are already at the limit of what I can maintain."

Looking around, there wasn't even a single adult Blue Dragon in Blue Wing Roost. Senegos said bitterly, "Because of the lack of sufficient mana supply, even my most important granddaughter cannot advance to adult form, let alone the other children."

As a core member of the Blue Dragonflight, Senegos undoubtedly had the authority to adjust ley line nodes. The pool in front of them, filled with dense mana, was the product of ley line adjustment.

Even so, to support the growth of hundreds of Blue Dragons, relying solely on Azsuna's ley line nodes was definitely not enough.

The Broken Isles were, after all, fragmented plates separated from the continent, and the largest ley line node in the entire Broken Isles was located in the Suramar region. Under the cover of a powerful barrier, even Senegos had no way to compete with Suramar for ley line nodes.

Senegos could only use the remaining scraps of the ley lines to tinker and barely patch together this Blue Wing Roost.

Thousands of years have passed, and the potential of this habitat has been squeezed to its limit. Even Senegos has fallen into a state of year-round weakness due to lack of mana, only able to lie in the mana pool in a semi-dormant state.

'No wonder.'

Andreas thought it was strange when he saw Sthragosza. It made no sense for her to be a Young Dragon now and still be a Young Dragon 3,000 years later. It seems the lack of mana was to blame.

"In that case, Senegos, have you never thought about sending the Blue Dragons of Blue Wing Roost back to Crystalsong Forest?"

As the home base of the Blue Dragons, The Nexus in Crystalsong Forest could be said to be the largest ley line node in all of Azeroth after the explosion of the Well of Eternity. There was absolutely no lack of mana for Blue Dragons to grow there; at most, they would just lack brains like Kalecgos.

"Of course I've thought about it."

After lifting his head for just a while, Senegos felt tired. He laid his massive dragon head flat on the surface of the faintly glowing pool again.

"But that madman Malygos is an unstable factor in Crystalsong Forest. You also said that the quality of the Blue Dragons bred in The Nexus after the War of the Ancients is worrying. If I send these children back, who can guarantee they will be properly cared for?"

Andreas smiled and said, "It's different now. His Majesty Malygos has awakened from his madness. Although he hasn't yet returned to the wise and gentle Blue Dragon Aspect of your memories, this is at least a good sign."

"Hmph~"

Senegos turned his head and said somewhat unnaturally, "Until I witness Malygos' change with my own eyes, I will absolutely not let the children go back to suffer."

'Sigh~'

Andreas patted his forehead helplessly. "Fine, I'll try. I'll trouble Miss Sthragosza to open a path to... uh."

Midway through his sentence, Andreas suddenly stopped.

Sthragosza also spread her hands with a bitter smile. "Regrettably, I have never been to Northrend and cannot open a portal to Crystalsong Forest."

"Let me do it."

Senegos struggled to prop up his body, gasping for a long while before opening an unstable portal that could only accommodate one person at a time.

"Go in quickly, I can't sustain it for long."

Andreas and the others didn't know how strong Senegos was in his prime, but an Ancient Dragon qualified to fight Malygos would definitely not be weak. Seeing him in his current state was somewhat heartbreaking.

Leaving his wife and daughter to wait at Blue Wing Roost, Andreas quickly stepped into the portal. Just then, Senegos collapsed back down in exhaustion, causing ripples in the water.

The portal Senegos opened led directly to The Eye of Eternity at the bottom of The Nexus. Before Andreas could carefully observe his surroundings, a familiar voice reached his ears.

"This mana fluctuation... Could it be that old fellow?"
