Ellen began to panic at her aunt's sudden news. Every time she visited, her aunt always told her beforehand. She was currently playing with Flint in the apartment next door. If her aunt saw her leaving, would she misunderstand? Especially since Flint was a man, her aunt would surely be angry with her for visiting a man's home at night.
She immediately shot up from the sofa, clutching her phone tightly. "What? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I'm your aunt, but why do you treat me like a stranger?"
"We agreed from the start. If you wanted to visit me, you should have told me first. What if I hadn't come home yet?"
"Instead of complaining, why don't you open the door for me? I've come all this way, and you haven't even welcomed me!"
"Okay, I'll open the door now."
Ellen ended the call quickly. She ran to the apartment door, kicking off her house slippers and putting on her work shoes. Meanwhile, Flint immediately ran over to her with a worried look.
