Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Kiss Matter

"Okay, cut!"

An actress had just finished filming in the studio. She ran with all her might to chase a serial killer in the thriller she was currently starring in. The actress was Ellen Alexandra known for her leading roles in both action and thriller dramas. She had never been interested in romantic dramas because she felt her life was already romantic enough. Why play a role in a romantic drama that always disgusted her?

Since she finished filming early today, she decided to rest a bit after several days of having to come home late due to nighttime filming. So, she changed into casual clothes to disguise herself so she could go on a date with her boyfriend.

After a long swim in the indoor pool, they spent time together at the hotel bar. Ellen wanted to celebrate her boyfriend's final day of filming for the adult romantic drama. Since her boyfriend started filming the drama, they'd only been able to date on their days off. It meant they'd only been on four dates in a month. Therefore, she didn't want to miss this golden opportunity to date as much as she wanted. Especially since it was so difficult to get him to drink alcohol with her at the bar.

She enthusiastically poured a glass of wine for her boyfriend, then moved the glass toward him. "How's filming going so far? Have there been any challenges?"

Harley took a slow sip of wine, swirling the glass. "Nothing. Everything's fine." A heavy sigh escaped his lips. "But, it's actually boring when I'm in an adult romance drama. Is it okay if I keep kissing Lauren?"

Although it was a burden, Ellen couldn't stop her boyfriend from kissing other women as much as he wanted. Especially in adult romantic dramas, where he wouldn't just kiss, but would also have to do various sex scenes. However, she believed he would still love her. Her boyfriend's first kiss wasn't from her, but from various actresses he had previously starred with.

She continued to smile brightly, holding her boyfriend's hand tightly. "Harley, if we want to be actors, we have to do it professionally. I have no right to stop you from doing so."

"Really?"

"Of course. Since I'm an actress myself, I know what the code of ethics is for both actresses and actors."

His eyebrows lowered when he saw his girlfriend still looking relaxed. "But Lauren is your best friend. Doesn't it hurt you to see your best friend kissing me?"

Ellen nodded. "I'm really fine. Lauren is a good woman. She promised me she wouldn't get emotional while filming the kissing or bed scenes with you."

Seeing his lover still confident, Harley raised his head again and offered a toast. "Okay, I won't feel bad for you anymore." His right eyebrow raised. "But, I'm still curious about you. Why do you still want us to kiss on our wedding day?"

"Because everyone says that the first kiss will be more special if it happens on your wedding day."

Harley nodded. "It seems so."

"So don't misunderstand me by thinking I always refuse your kisses. I don't want us to kiss while you're busy kissing another woman. I just want our kiss to be special and unforgettable."

"Then, I guess I'll have to propose sooner so I can kiss you."

Hearing her lover's candid statement made her cheeks flush. Although she hoped to marry him soon, their filming schedules were getting busier and busier, making it difficult for them to even think about marriage. They had been dating for a year, but they rarely even discussed the future of their relationship. Spending time together was even rarer. Would they be able to maintain their relationship even after they were married?

"You don't need to rush into proposing to me. You must be very busy too."

Harley gently stroked his lover's head. "You're so innocent, Ellen."

"Since you're willing to go on a date with me after filming, I'd like to enjoy some more wine with you."

As they toasted and sipped their wine, Ellen suddenly felt a slight headache. Was it because the alcohol content she ordered was too high? However, she had made sure the wine wasn't too high in alcohol because her boyfriend had to drive.

Her vision grew blurrier, and all she could hear was her lover's voice, faintly calling her name over and over. Her body grew weaker and weaker, and she finally collapsed into his strong arms.

As the morning sunlight illuminated the hotel room, Ellen blinked slowly while massaging her aching head. She slowly sat up straight, squinting at her surroundings. She tried to remember what she did last night with Harley at the bar. The last thing she remembered was drinking wine with Harley, which ultimately led to her passing out. Suddenly, she woke up in the hotel room, making her curious. What had happened to her?

Turning her head to look at Harley sleeping soundly beside her, her gaze widened and she nearly screamed. However, it was strange, why were they still wearing the same clothes as yesterday? Has something really gone wrong all night? She felt something was off, as it was odd that Harley wouldn't want to have sex with her when he had the perfect opportunity.

She slowly got out of bed, putting on her heels. She silently thanked Harley for being so understanding. That's what made her trust him so much since they first started dating.

"Ellen, are you awake?"

Hearing her lover's voice made it difficult for her to move. She slowly turned to face her lover, who had just woken up from her dream. She lowered her head and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. She wasn't sure how to start the conversation, as this was her first time sleeping with her lover.

"By the way, what happened last night? How did I get to sleep with you here?"

Harley smiled awkwardly, getting out of bed while putting on his shoes. "You suddenly fainted last night."

"What?"

"That's why I immediately booked a hotel room for you. I originally wanted to leave you alone to avoid any misunderstandings. But I couldn't bear to leave you alone when you passed out. I was afraid something would happen to you."

Ellen still felt nervous. She kept her head down. "Did I do something wrong last night?"

"No. You slept soundly last night. If you don't believe me, you can feel your body to see if it aches or not."

Unable to contain her nervousness, she immediately reached for the mini bag on the bedside table. "I want to go home now. Thank you for letting me sleep here and for not doing anything to me."

"Then, I will take you home now."

"No need. Later everyone–"

Harley stubbornly held his lover's hand tightly and hurried out of the room. As he opened the hotel room door, reporters suddenly swarmed them.

Ellen stared nervously at all the reporters who were constantly taking pictures of her. Especially since Lauren was also standing among them.

What was really going on?

PAK!

Lauren slapped Ellen so hard her cheek turned red.

"How dare you steal my fiancé, Ellen!"
