Jay's POV
From the day I became a mother until a few years ago, I was too scared to even hold my own baby.
Back then, if someone had told me that one day I'd have a beautiful family of my own, I probably wouldn't have believed them.
A few years ago, Keifer was just my best friend—the one who stayed by my side through every smile and every tear. Neither of us knew that our story would become something so much more.
And now...
Here I am, living the life we once never imagined.
I'm the mother of two beautiful children.
My eldest is our little princess, Jayda Watson, who is three years old.
And our youngest is our adorable baby boy, Kaithen Watson, who just turned one.
"Daddy, I'm so excited!" Jayda squealed as Keifer carried her into the kitchen.
"Mama, where's my Barbie bag?" she asked.
"It's in your closet. Now hurry and get ready—it's your first day of school," I said.
She nodded happily, grabbed Keifer's hand, and the two of them went upstairs.
Ever since she was born, she's been completely attached to Keifer. Whenever someone asks who she is, she proudly replies,
"I'm Jayda Watson, and I'm Daddy's princess."
What can I say? Keifer spoils her way too much.
"Mama... Mama..."
Our little boy, Kaithen, crawled toward me with his tiny hands stretched out.
I picked him up and kissed his chubby cheeks.
"My baby."
"Mama, I'm ready!" Jayda called as she came downstairs.
I fixed her uniform before smiling at her.
"Good girl. Now put on your shoes."
She nodded, but the moment Keifer brought her black school shoes, she crossed her arms and pouted.
"No! They're black. I don't like them."
"But you have to wear them, Princess. It's part of the school uniform," Keifer said gently.
She pouted for another second before finally giving in.
A few minutes later, we all got into the car to drop Jayda off at school. She had been excited all morning.
But the moment we arrived, everything changed.
Keifer carried her out of the car and tried to put her down.
Instead, she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, and tears filled her eyes.
"I don't want to go," she sniffled, burying her face against his shoulder.
"But you were excited just a few minutes ago," Keifer laughed softly.
"I don't want to leave Daddy."
He kissed the top of her head.
"Listen, Princess. Daddy will come pick you up early, and you'll make lots of new friends."
After nearly ten minutes of comforting and convincing her, she finally agreed, though she still wiped away her tears as she walked inside.
Kaithen waved his tiny hand excitedly.
"Bye-bye!"
Jayda turned around and waved back with a small smile before entering her classroom.
I looked at Kaithen and smiled.
"You'll be going to school too in a few years."
On the drive home, Keifer glanced at me.
"Jay, once we pick Jayda up later, let's go for our family photoshoot."
I nodded with a smile.
The years had passed so quickly.
In those three years, I had completed my graduation and was now working alongside Keifer as the co-CEO of our company.
Life wasn't perfect every day, but it was everything I had once dreamed of.
A few hours later...
The front door burst open.
"Mama! I'm home!"
Jayda ran inside, happily eating her ice cream before throwing her little arms around me.
Then she hugged Kaithen.
"Little bro, I'm home!"
Kaithen clapped his hands excitedly.
"Play! Play!"
Jayda giggled and shook her head.
"No. My teacher gave me lots of homework."
She opened her backpack.
"First, go change your clothes and eat something," I said. "Then I'll help you with your homework."
She nodded obediently.
That evening, we all stood together in the garden wearing matching outfits for our family photoshoot.
"Three... two... one... smile!" the photographer called.
We all smiled as the camera clicked.
"Mama! Tito Kerein is teasing me!" Jayda complained.
"Kerein, stop teasing her," I laughed.
The photographer captured a few more pictures—some silly, some candid, and some perfect.
A few minutes later, he handed us the printed photographs.
I quietly admired every single one.
Our little family.
My husband.
My daughter.
My son.
Keifer's brothers, Kerein and Kegain.
The people who stood by us through every chapter of our lives.
Looking at the picture, I couldn't help but smile.
From best friends...
To lovers.
From husband and wife...
To parents.
From two broken hearts...
To a family filled with love.
We had laughed together, cried together, fought countless battles, and held onto each other through every storm.
And in the end...
Love chose us.
This photograph wasn't just a memory.
It was proof that every heartbreak, every sacrifice, every tear, and every wait had been worth it.
This was the family we built together.
This was our forever.
And this...
was our happily ever after.
Keifer come toward me and warped his arm around mine...
We both admire the picture ..
