Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Imp Warrior

When he woke he found that his wound had healed, he smiled. He was glad he invested his stats into vitality.

His regenerative ability and probably stamina should increase as well. He then decided to check out his skills.

After asking the system he learnt he can check the description and rarity of skills and decided to.

Innate traits: Eyes of Cronos- ?????????

Rarity- ????????

Skills:

Hawk eye- ( passive ability- increases the perception of the user and gives them night vision.

Activate ability- can further increase the perception and increase the range of the users eyesight)

Rarity- Rare

"So that's why i can see things in slow motion and why my perception stats is so much higher." He checked the second skill even though it was straight forward.

Future sight- ( Can allow the user to see a second into the future at this level.)

Rarity- Mythical

(Warning: the ability places a massive burden on the mind and requires a strong will to use.

It also drains more mana at a rapid pace so player is advised to thread carefully.) The system warned him.

Inspect- ( player can inspect the level and skills of others. Skill is limited by it level.)

Rarity- Epic

Unfortunately he couldn't check the description of gained skills but he understood them.

They were passive skill that just symbolised his own mastery of the arts. Before choosing archery he had actually tried a few sports.

Swordsmanship and spearmanship were the only other two he enjoyed a little but he eventually went with archery.

" System what are the avarage stats of a human?" ( The stats of humans ranges but are generally around 10 or 9 with the exception of spirit which is usually lower.)

He nodded, " Wait what?" He looked at his status again and his spirit was higher than his other stats.

If it was usually the lowest stat then this made zero chance. " System, why is my spirit stats so high though?"

The system was quiet, he waited a few seconds and figured it had no plans to answer him so he gave up.

He asked another question, " System what exactly is this apocalypse, what caused it?" The answer came almost immediately as if it was waiting for that question.

( The apocalypse is the overlap of the abyss with the mortal realm thus spilling the vile creatures of the abyss into the world.)

" Okay, but what causes the overlap?" The system was quiet for a while. ( Sorry player, my database does not contain such information.)

" Okay, so what are you and what's your purpose?" ( I am the system interface and my purpose is to assist players survive the apocalypse.)

" Okay, who created you?" ( ???? Player does not have authority to access that information.)

He sighed, he knew getting information about it creators would be impossible. He found it hard to simply trust the system but he had no choice.

It was necessary if he was to survive this apocalypse. After his wound no longer hurt enough to impede his actions he stood up.

The only weapon he found in this storage room was a fire axe. He realised he couldn't rely on his bow forever.

Enemies can get close to him, before going out he looked below the door and there he saw two pairs of red feet.

They belonged to imps certainly, the issue was that he did not know how many more there were out there.

However he was starting to get hungry and he couldn't stay here forever. He opened the door and rushed out.

The two imps Infront of the door were startled, he swung his axe and split the head of one then kicked the other with all of his strength.

It fell off the side of the stairs and went plummeting down. He turned and faced three more up the stairs.

He was right when he thought there could be more than one. He hanged the axe on his waist and started running down the stairs to open space.

The Imps screamed probably to alert others which was bad for him. He pulled his bow and fired an arrow.

He realised that with an increase in his perception, he was a much better archer than he was in highschool and university.

He killed two imps before they could reach him then stabbed the other with an arrow killing it.

"Too many damn imps." He grumbled and pulled out his arrows and waited. He could hear footsteps coming towards him.

An imp showed up around the corner, he immediately took it out with an arrow and nocked another.

He took a step forward and shot another arrow killing another imp. It was strange how there were so many imps here.

From his experience reading novels and playing video games, there must be a boss imp somewhere around that's keeping other creatures besides it kind away.

If that's the case, if there's really a regional boss then things won't bode well for him at all.

He continued going up while shooting down imps. Along the way he collected his arrows and reused them.

He had killed 7 imps and he noticed he was getting faster and more accurate with his arrows.

( Archery- Level 9 ( 36%) he has reached level 9 in it, he supposed fighting under such conditions could stir his potential.

He reached the peak of the stairs, after this floor was the roof. He peaked his head and looked at the passage.

There were a few imps walking around, at the end was a different kind of imp. It was larger than the others.

At the height of a 15 years old girl. The major difference was that it had wings on it back and it was carrying a sword.

He used inspect, he had no idea how to use the skill but the all helpful system was there to help.

All he needed to do was think about using the skill and it will work. He looked at the imps and used inspect.

The normal imps ranged from level 4 to 8, their stats were slightly above his but they had much lower vitality, will and spirit.

He checked the larger imp
