But right before he could get to it, Lyra's head suddenly rose as her eyes narrowed on Ulric, her brows furrowing ever so slightly.
Something wasn't right.
Rising to her feet, now almost fully sated, she slowly approached the black-robed figure seated in the distance.
Now that she looked more closely...
She could finally see it.
The usual indifferent expression resting across his face had been replaced by a faint smile.
She had seen him happy multiple times before, and more often than not, the reason had been obvious.
This time, however...
She couldn't think of one.
"You look unusually happy," Lyra muttered suspiciously as she slowly circled around him, carefully observing every subtle change in his expression as though trying to solve a difficult puzzle.
Seeing the curious look on her face, Ulric's lips twitched slightly.
Was his usual expression really so stern that even the slightest smile had become such a rare sight?
