Smashing through the layers of the underground labyrinth, Ulric took in a sharp breath as he emerged onto the surface.
His eyes swept across the surroundings before suddenly narrowing.
He could sense it. Something had changed.
Tilting his gaze toward the sky, he studied the alignment of the stars and the radiance pouring from the moon, absently rubbing his chin as a thoughtful expression settled across his face.
The confusion in his eyes deepened before gradually fading a few moments later.
He could tell that several hours had passed since he entered the underground structure.
But how? Ulric frowned.
To him, barely a few minutes had passed since the entire ordeal had unfolded.
As he pondered the discrepancy, he suddenly paused, recalling the strange vision he had experienced after dipping his fingers into the Demonic Refining Pool.
Within that vision, only a few fleeting moments had seemed to pass.
Yet outside...Several hours had already slipped by.
