After crossing the river, the 541 Patrol Team's mission went very smoothly. On the eighth and twentieth days, they encountered two separate enemy forces, both of which were dealt with by the experienced team members.
The team members, for their part, were quite satisfied with life on this side of the river. Compared to the other side, this side had vast bamboo groves and much denser forests. While this increased the danger, it also meant there was far more prey.
On this mission, their dinners had become much more varied. In addition to the usual civets, porcupines, and muntjacs, their menu now featured species they hadn't eaten before, such as bamboo rats, lizards, and water buffalo.
Unbeknownst to them, Yuan Si went out for a stroll every night. Her dimensional space was practically empty, which made her feel insecure, so she decided to catch some prey to restock it.
