Over the weekend, the matriarch couldn't rest easy in her hometown because of her daughter's situation. On Sunday afternoon, she started packing, ready to head back to the county town.
Yuan Si and her husband both knew what this was about. Since there was nothing to do in their hometown anyway, leaving early was fine with them.
And so, the family of five, without even spending a full day in Li Family Village, hurried back to the county.
On Monday morning, after Xiao Furen left with Xiao Hu, the matriarch packed some snacks for her younger grandson and took him over to their neighbor, Aunt Liang. After asking her to watch him for the morning, the matriarch pulled her daughter along and headed straight for the county hospital.
Once at the hospital, they went straight to the second floor. The matriarch had been here before; her daughter-in-law had given birth to Little Niu right here. So, she took her daughter directly to the obstetrics and gynecology department.
