By the time the sun was high in the sky, Jiang Zuo and Su Qi were planning to find some breakfast.
Jiang Zuo's face was pale. Not from lack of sleep, but from being beaten.
Come to think of it, between getting beaten and sleeping, getting beaten was actually the more frequent occurrence.
Back in school, he really was beaten often.
After they got married, however, he was hardly ever beaten.
Not knowing why, Jiang Zuo asked out of curiosity.
"Because you have to work, and work is all about keeping up appearances, right? How could I let other people know you get beaten by your wife?
What if they gossiped about you and made you feel bad?
So, unless I'm especially angry, I just reform you with love," Su Qi answered.
Jiang Zuo asked again, "You used to hit me so much back then. Weren't you afraid I'd run away?"
Su Qi smiled. "Of course not. I always went easy on you. More importantly, I never felt like you were actually angry."
