Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: The Little Blue Thing

"Hurry up, you idiots! I spend so much money keeping you around, don't you dare screw this up at a critical moment!"

Inside a black sedan heading for the airport, the bloated Senator Hope was shouting at the top of his lungs while constantly wiping sweat with a handkerchief.

"Damn it! Which bastard secretly filmed that video?"

"The Security Bureau is a bunch of useless trash, especially Hansen. He's a complete waste! Garbage!"

"Getting secretly filmed in his own office. How the hell did that useless Hansen manage that? Why did I even work with trash like him? I was blind!"

Hope pulled out his phone again and dialed a number. It was Vought CEO Edgar's number.

But the call was never answered. Before this, the senator had already made no fewer than ten calls.

"Bastard!"

"Edgar, you damned son of a bitch, why aren't you answering my calls!"

"Is everyone in Vought Company a useless piece of trash? Can't you even manage your own products properly!"

"Damn it! If nothing else, you should at least send a few superheroes to protect me!" [T/N: Lmao!]

At that moment, he received a call.

It was from his wife.

"Hello. Mm, yes."

"I'm going on a business trip. What video? Don't believe that."

"That's all my opponents smearing me."

"That's right, you and Rita stay home and don't go out."

"Alright, I'm hanging up."

After putting the phone down, the senator glanced out the car window. They had arrived at the airport.

Once he boarded his private jet, Hope finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank God. Nothing happened."

He then picked up the phone inside the cabin and contacted the cockpit, "Hello, Captain."

"Is the plane ready? Take off immediately!"

"Yes, to the UK. Right now!"

After hanging up, the senator looked out the cabin window again. Suddenly, his expression twisted as he gritted his teeth.

"Homelander!"

"Damn superhuman!"

"Because of him, how much do I have to give up?"

"I'll be back!"

"I will never let that damned superpowered bastard off!"

As the plane took off, Hope fastened his seat belt with the help of a beautiful flight attendant.

After the plane reached the stratosphere, perhaps because of the fright he had endured, Hope felt exhausted. After covering himself with a blanket, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

He had no idea how much time passed when he suddenly heard some sounds.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

It sounded like someone tapping on the window with their fingers.

'The window?'

Hope jolted awake.

He was on a plane, at an altitude of ten thousand meters. Who could possibly be tapping on the window at a time like this.

His teeth chattered, his fat shook all over, and his head slowly turned toward the window. His neck made creaking sounds like a rusted machine.

Finally, the senator looked at the window beside him.

Outside, it was pitch black.

Clouds drifted past from time to time.

Right outside the window, Hope saw a face with cold, sharp features.

It was a handsome man.

His blond hair was blown back by the wind, and a faint smirk hung at the corner of his mouth.

Then, golden light gradually lit up within his blue eyes, flooding the window with brilliance, as if a sun were rising in the sky.

———

In an apartment somewhere in New York.

A short haired woman took a syringe out of a red shoulder bag. Inside it was a blue liquid.

"A-Train is dead."

"I'm washed up too. They won't use me anymore."

"I can't make movies. I can't get any endorsements."

"I'm finished."

She shook her head, looked at the syringe, and closed her eyes.

After a while, the short haired woman picked it up and injected herself.

Immediately, her whole body trembled, and her mood became extremely excited, like reaching the peak of a high.

She screamed as a bone claw extended from her arm.

At this moment, she felt omnipotent.

Bang!

The apartment door was suddenly kicked open violently, and then a figure wearing black metal armor charged inside.

The short haired woman froze for a moment, then screamed and lunged forward. She straddled the armored figure and stabbed wildly with both bone claws.

The armored man reached out, grabbed her by the neck, lifted her up, then punched her hard in the stomach and threw her to the ground.

The short haired woman clutched her stomach and coughed repeatedly.

She coughed until tears streamed down her face, and then she heard a voice say, "What did you just inject yourself with, sweetheart."

"That little blue thing."

"Looks like the 'weed' you supe-bastards use?"

The short haired woman struggled to raise her head and saw the faceplate of the armored man open, revealing a rough, bearded face.

Along with a very punchable grin.

———

Alex was in the middle of some intense exercise. After finishing, he let out a breath and walked into the bathroom.

As warm water flowed over his shoulders and back, he felt strong fingers pressing down on his shoulders.

Then Angelina's slightly tired voice sounded, "Master, I can already use shadows to wrap the liquid and make sure not a single drop leaks."

"Is that so?"

"In that case, your revenge play can begin very soon."

Alex took the girl's hand and gently pressed on Angelina's shoulder. She immediately understood.

Alex continued, "Believe me. Soon, you'll get back what belongs to you."

Angelina responded with a muffled sound.

While eating breakfast, Alex opened his status panel and browsed through the proficiency levels of his various talents.

Then he opened the shop and glanced at the newly updated items.

'Looks pretty good.'

'Mist Form can temporarily avoid attacks and also allow rapid movement.'

'Shadow Stealth lets you merge into shadows, become one with them, and move silently within them.'

Alex nodded, planning to redeem this equipment for Angelina to use when she carried out her revenge.

At that moment, the door to the command hall was pushed open. Alex turned his head and saw that it was Edgar.

Vought's CEO walked in quickly with a grim expression. Ashley followed him inside, but Edgar glanced back at her, and Ashley immediately withdrew and closed the door.

Edgar said nothing. He directly turned on the television.

As soon as the screen lit up, a news broadcast appeared.

["We have just received news that a private jet has crashed into the high seas. After confirmation, the aircraft belonged to former Senator Hope Edron."]

["The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation."]

Edgar set the remote down, looked at Alex, and spread his hands, "Perhaps you owe me an explanation?"
