Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : After The Goodbye

Raha couldn't sleep the entire night.

One moment she thought about Meena.

The next moment, about Subin.

Her chest felt unbearably heavy.

The next morning at 9:30 AM, she left the house to say goodbye to Subin.

At the airport, she saw him standing beside his grandfather.

The moment Subin saw her, his face lit up.

"Raha…! You came!"

He ran toward her.

Raha forced a small smile and nodded.

His grandfather stepped closer and examined her gently.

"Oh… so you're Raha?"

She nodded again.

"Hmmm… Subin talks about you all the time," he said with a soft smile.

Raha glanced at Subin quietly.

Then his grandfather's expression turned serious.

"The situation at your school isn't good. That's why I'm taking Subin to Paris."

Raha lowered her head.

Subin's voice became firm.

"Meena was my best friend. But she's… gone. Rabina, Grace, Bella — and that Rohan — they're responsible. One day they'll face the consequences."

His grandfather placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I understand what's in your heart. Taking you away like this may not be right… but your parents won't agree to anything else."

Subin didn't reply.

An announcement echoed through the airport.

The flight to Paris will be departing shortly.

Raha's eyes filled with tears. So did Subin's.

For the last time, he pulled her into a tight embrace.

"Bye…"

His grandfather noticed the way they held onto each other.

He understood.

But he said nothing.

As Subin walked away, he turned once more.

"If anyone ever bothers you… tell me."

Then he was gone.

Raha stood there, wiping her tears.

After a while, she stepped outside the airport and stared at the sky for a long time.

Then she began walking home.

On the way, she saw Mr. Lee sitting under a tree, staring at his phone.

Raha quietly went and sat beside him.

He glanced at her but said nothing.

Silence surrounded them.

He wiped his tears and kept looking at his phone.

Raha leaned slightly and saw Meena's picture on the screen.

Her chest tightened.

She wanted to say something… but how?

As she stood up to leave, Mr. Lee suddenly spoke.

"Raha… you saw Meena yesterday, didn't you?"

She froze.

Slowly, she turned and nodded.

Mr. Lee broke down.

"What did Meena ever do to them?" he whispered.

Then his expression hardened.

"I know the police won't do anything. So I will punish them."

Raha quickly sat beside him again.

He looked at her.

"What did you see there?"

She took out her diary and wrote:

"They tied Meena up and were recording a video. Rabina, Bella, and Grace."

Mr. Lee's jaw tightened.

"If we can find that video… then it will be enough. But how?"

Raha wrote again:

"I need to go home. I've been out for too long."

He didn't stop her.

She left.

When she reached home, her mother was about to leave for work.

"Raha! Come with me," her mother said.

Raha gestured, Where?

"To the house where I work."

Raha shook her head quickly.

"School is closed for a week after that incident. If I go to work, will you stay home alone? No. I won't leave you alone."

Raha frowned.

"We don't know anyone here. I can't leave you alone like this. You're coming with me. Just sit quietly. That's all."

Raha hesitated.

That house was Rohan's.

Yesterday, she had slapped him.

What if he did something worse?

But her mother didn't listen. She held her hand and took her along.

They arrived.

Raha stared in shock.

This isn't a house… it's a mansion.

Her mother went to start her work.

Raha sat quietly in a corner of the sofa, observing everything.

Other maids asked her mother, "Who is she?"

"My daughter," her mother replied with a proud smile.

"Oh! She's so beautiful. Like a fairy. Her eyes are stunning…"

Her mother smiled warmly.

One of them asked Raha, "What's your name?"

Her mother hesitated.

"She… can't speak."

"Oh… such a beautiful girl… and she can't talk?" they whispered.

Raha's heart felt heavy.

Her mother's smile faded slightly.

Just then—

Rohan entered.

He stopped when he saw her.

"You…? What are you doing here?"

Raha didn't respond.

Her mother rushed forward.

"Sir… she's my daughter."

Rohan looked at her mother, then back at Raha.

So this is her mother…

"School is closed, so I brought her with me," her mother explained nervously.

"Hmmm. Fine," Rohan replied casually. "What's there to eat?"

He walked toward the kitchen.

After a few minutes, he came back, a maid following him with a plate.

Suddenly he called loudly—

"Raha!"

She flinched.

"Come with me."

Everyone stared.

Even her mother looked shocked.

Raha kept her head down.

"What happened?" Rohan said sharply. "Why is your head down? You didn't hesitate to slap me at school."

Raha slowly looked up at him.

For a moment, their eyes locked.

Rohan went silent.

The maids whispered, "Slap? She slapped him?"

Without another word, Rohan grabbed her hand and pulled her toward his room.

Everyone stood frozen.

Her mother watched helplessly as the door closed behind them.
