Chapter 5 - Rank Up!

"From the article I read, I need to register as an official hunter before ranking up. There's still time—better go now so I can explore a real dungeon starting tomorrow."

After making up his mind, Rega hurried out of the beginner dungeon and headed to the nearest Hunter Association.

It wasn't far from the beginner dungeon—about a ten-minute walk.

As soon as he arrived at the Hunter Association, Rega approached a tall, beautiful receptionist who looked sexy yet elegant.

"Welcome to the Hunter Association. How may I help you?"

"I want to register as an official hunter."

"An official hunter? Have you reached level 1000 yet?"

"Yes. I just reached it."

"Hmm… Please place your hand here. I need to verify it directly."

Ah, so she doesn't believe me. Well, it can't be helped. Someone my age reaching level 1000 is rare. It usually takes one to two years to reach level 1000, but I did it in less than two weeks.

Rega placed his hand on the machine. The next second, his status appeared in front of the receptionist.

"That's impossible—level 1000?!"

The receptionist was utterly shocked. It was clear she hadn't believed Rega at all.

"So? My registration can be processed right away, right?"

"Ahem. With all due respect, please forgive my earlier behavior."

She immediately returned to a professional demeanor, apologizing in a serious and sincere tone.

"Alright, I forgive you. Now please take care of my registration as an official hunter."

"Thank you. I'll begin the registration process now."

The process wasn't as complicated as Rega had imagined.

He only needed to write down his name and have his face photographed. His official hunter ID card was issued immediately.

The registration fee was free. Not only that, beginner official hunters also received a small sum of money that could be used to buy equipment, potions, and other necessities.

Because the difficulty gap between real dungeons and beginner dungeons was enormous, Rega needed to buy a weapon using the subsidy he received.

But before that, he had to decide which class he wanted to choose upon ranking up.

"Ai, do you have any suggestions?"

(At times like this, Master must understand himself, not seek advice from others.)

"You're right."

Rega began to reflect. After fifteen minutes, he finally decided which class he would take.

"Alright, it's time to rank up."

Rega pressed the rank-up button, expecting a major change. However, nothing happened except his level resetting back to zero while all his attributes increased by one hundred points.

"Huh, at least I feel stronger, even if the difference isn't that noticeable."

(Congratulations on your rank up. The chosen class has been granted, Spear Master!)

(Congratulations on becoming a Spear Master. Skill: Basic Spear Mastery has been acquired.)

"Great! Now I don't have to be afraid of fighting monsters!" Rega smiled confidently, proud as he looked at his status.

(Surprising. I thought Master would choose Sword Master.)

"I'm grateful to the sword for bringing me this far, but after thinking it through, I realized I'm not quite suited for a sword. I prefer using a spear."

(Hmm… Why not try using it now?)

"For what?"

(Just do it. Master will understand once you try.)

"But there's no spear here."

(…That's true. In that case, just do it tomorrow. Master will definitely be surprised by what happens.)

Rega was extremely curious, but he had no choice but to wait until tomorrow since curfew was approaching.

Jaran Dungeon was a low-level real dungeon located in Semarang City.

Today, Rega came to Jaran Dungeon with the intention of making his debut as an official hunter.

Since he wasn't a celebrity or the child of a famous family, no one knew about his debut except his family.

As a low-level dungeon, Jaran Dungeon was quite popular because the monsters inside were easy to defeat, even for beginner official hunters.

Rega chose this dungeon for that very reason. Moreover, his older sister, Sarah, had also recommended it.

Sarah said she had an acquaintance who worked there and had already informed them about Rega.

However, Rega didn't know who that person was, as he couldn't see them anywhere when he registered at the lobby.

"…I guess I can explore the first floor on my own."

With that thought, Rega entered Jaran Dungeon, officially beginning his first debut as a beginner official hunter.
