KIEFER'S POV:
Ella. She's so beautiful. I still remember the day she left. I couldn't stop her. It's all because of that bitch. Michael Aries Fernandez. Aries.
He manipulated her. He made her leave Section E. He turned her against me. I will take revenge on you, Aries. Just wait.
The final bell snapped me out of it. I was sitting at the flagpole in the yard, staring at nothing.
I started to leave, but then I saw Yuri and the others heading my way.
"Hey, Kief!" Yuri called out.
"Hey, bro," I greeted back.
We dropped onto the nearby desks.
"So... how's Japan?" I asked.
"Good," he said. "Grandpa's great. He's fixing some family drama."
I nodded.
"Anyway," Yuri said, leaning in, "why didn't you mess with that new girl, Jay Jay?"
I went quiet for a beat, then said, " I did but...She's different."
He frowned.
"Different how?"
"She's... strong. Calculative. She's something." I exhaled hard. "My usual tricks won't work. We gotta go harder."
He nodded slowly.
"We have to make her leave Section E. You remember what happened before, right?"
Another slow nod.
"It can't happen again. I won't let it."
Silence hung between us.
Jay Jay. Whatever magic she's holding, it's pulling me in. She's pStrong, calculative, attentive, smart. She doesn't flinch. She's not like the others. She dresses like me. Walks like me. Talks like me. Something's off—fishy.
I swear I've seen her before, known her somehow. But nothing clicks. Ugh. She's wormed into my head. The way she sucks that lollipop. The way she talks. The looks she gives. Everything mirrors me. What kind of magic is this? It's dragging me toward her.
Stop it, Kiefer. You only love Ella. Not some newbie. Forget her. Only Ella...
