Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Letter

JAY'S POV :

"Good! You actually didn't break your promise"

I fake smiled.

"Because of that, we're friends now" He said grinning. "But keep it a secret"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Secret Teammate." He said, walking towards the stairs. "ST"

I shook my head. This kid.

Now I was alone on the second floor of the Section E building, my old spot. The kid had vanished. I'd finished my lunch and was packing up, but it was still early. Curiosity pulled me to poke around the rooms—mostly trash, but who knew?

Four rooms, each with double doors. Filthy: shattered jalousie windows, splintered desks and chairs. Fixable, though, with some elbow grease.

I slipped into the first. Papers littered the floor like confetti from hell. I turned to leave—then spotted it. A pink envelope, heart-stamped, placed too perfectly amid the mess. Couldn't resist.

I picked it up and dusted it off. I opened the envelope and saw that there was a letter inside.

It's not that I'm nosy, but my brain was itching to know what was inside. Besides, no one owns this anymore. If someone did, why was it left here? That means they don't want it anymore. Or maybe the person it was meant for never got it. Hmpf! Whatever!

Might as well open it!

Neat handwriting—girl's, for sure. Stationery vibes.

Dear Calix,

HAPPY MONTHSARY!! I ❤ U

I'm sorry, this is all I could do for our monthsary. I've been saving up for the shoes you want, and I promise that will be my birthday gift to you.

I wanted to tell you this in person, but I'm scared because you're always mad, so I'm just writing it in this letter instead.

Calix, I want to thank you for choosing me despite all the girls chasing after you. Even though we have to keep this a secret, I'm really, really happy. Don't worry, I don't believe what people are saying—that you have another girlfriend and that you're seeing a lot of other girls. I love you so much, and I trust you completely.

Honestly, sometimes I get annoyed with you because we rarely get to see each other, and when we do, you barely pay attention to me. But of course, I can never stay mad at you. Always remember, no matter how angry or upset I get, all you have to do is shout that you love me, and all my anger will disappear.

Happy Monthsary again!! I ❤ You!

Mica 😘

Calix—my classmate? Playboy rumors swirled around him. Poor Mica. Asshole didn't even grab it. 😤

But rumors lie. Gotta confirm.

Who is this Mica, anyway? Need to find out.

II tucked the envelope into my bag. Finders keepers.

Next room was locked tight—windows painted over, sealed like a tomb. What's the secret?

Bell rang. I bolted downstairs. Teachers late as usual.

Classmates wilted like veggies—Yuri absent, no cafeteria runs. Ci-N smiled blankly. Keifer sucked a lollipop, poker-faced. Felix pouted like a starving pup.

Pity hit. I tossed him my last chip pack. They perked up—then Felix hoarded it, greedy pig. Puppy eyes begged; I shrugged empty hands. Shoulders slumped. Pathetic.

I sat down and waited for class to start. As I waited, I suddenly felt something cold on my seat, but I ignored it since it went away quickly. Maybe my seat just got cold from being empty for so long.

During class, I had that weird feeling—like people were laughing at me. But every time I looked around, I didn't see anyone actually laughing.

Even in our next classes, the same thing happened. What's going on? What's with these people?! They must be messing with me again! Damn brats!

Class ended, and my classmates started leaving. I was still packing my things, so I was a bit behind. When I was finally done and about to stand up—something was wrong.

Something was REALLY wrong. My chair was stuck to me.

I looked at my skirt and—Shit! It was glued to the chair. I heard laughter near the door. Keifer was smirking, and Felix and his group were laughing.

Those damn animals! They put glue on my seat! Fuck this!!

I tried to pull myself free, but it wouldn't budge. Damn it!

I glared at Keifer.

"Don't look at me like that... I don't know anything about it," he said, smirking again.

"You bastards!"

They all burst into even louder laughter at what I said. They started leaving.

Ci-N came over. "What happened to you?"

"Ci! Help!" I shouted while trying to get off the chair.

He tried pulling me off. He even placed one foot on the chair and yanked at me.

"won't budge!" he complained.

He grinned at me.

"Heading out."

"Fuck you! Leaving me?!"

"Joking! You're crying already."

He laughed.

" Let me find who did this, I'll skin 'em!"

Ci-N yanked again—failing spectacularly.

"Jay, now what?"

I glared.

"Giving up?!"

He cracked up.

"That glare—ugly as sin."

"Ci-N! I'll kill you!"

"Only if you escape before I do."

Blood boiled.

"Skirt off?"

Ci-N grinned wickedly.

"Fucking serious?!"

"Kidding!" He howled.

But... black cycling shorts underneath. Short, but passable. Zipper snag—half glued. Shit!

I'm out of options! I was running out of ideas when I suddenly looked at Felix. You owe me, snack thief!

"Felix!"

He pointed at himself.

"Me?"

"No, the other Felix," I snapped.

He just laughed in response.

"Get over here, Felix!" I shouted.

"What?" he asked as he got closer.

"Help Ci-N free me. You owe—Nova snacks!"

He mulled.

"Fine."

Felix gripped arms; Ci-N chaired up.

"On count of three—"

Ci-N interrupted Felix. "Is it at three or on three—"

I yelled at him. "ON F*CKING THREE!"

They both nodded and got into position again.

"One... Two... THREE!" We all shouted together.

Freedom! ...with a rip. Skirt shredded.Didn't need to see Ci-N's face. Felt it.

"Wow... Nice ass."
