Chapter 32 - ARC OF THE DEMON KING’S DEATH — PART VI

Before the catastrophe that was the battle between the Demon King and Sceadu Gestréon Ungemynd, those who still survived on the Monster Continent migrated en masse, flying above the ocean.

They soon noticed rocks exploding from the seabed, and new portions of land, with mountain ranges and explosions of lava and magma for kilometers.

The union between the two continents was a matter of time, and on the opposite side, at the maritime edges, everything was sinking, with gigantic waves drowning forests and cities, and the terror of the low-level drowned being transformed into a feast for crows and sharks.

In the ocean that covered the submerged valleys, the myriad of bodies served for crows and black-winged vultures to land and feed.

Beneath, the sharks pulled the bloodied corpses into the depths, destroying the bodies and fighting over the pieces.

The birds flew and were like clouds of all colors in the most beautiful feathers and in restless songs above the many directionless peoples, in caravans of thousands without destination, merely fleeing among the rubble of civilization.

In space, trees and pieces of cities whose names would be forgotten struck asteroids and debris lifted from the battle that still raged on.

The One, with its power, erased whatever life existed around it, and what was once the Monster Continent became like barren rock.

The Demon King was the apex of battles, he possessed a secret magic that stole the aura of the enemies he faced, and this was never deactivated. It was so subtle that it was never discovered. However, he did not assimilate this, for he had never managed to develop such an enchantment, despite centuries of trying.

In the end, it was a spell that stole Aura and dispersed it into the air. Against most enemies, this would be an unparalleled advantage.

However, against Sceadu Gestréon Ungemynd, it was his greatest problem. For the Aura of what approached was thrown around his body, being assimilated by the One along with the living nature around it.

And from the beginning of the fight, the Demon King perceived this, leading the enemy outside the planet, and there, after the One assimilated all life as far as the eye could see.

An explosion of magma in the fissure covered with earth was the signal, and they returned to exchanging punches and kicks.

The One was losing again, but amid the lava, the enormous gray body, full of ramifications, no longer regenerated, without any human expressions. It was muscles and nothing more, falling apart as it was beaten.

Until it gathered what remained of its powers and grabbed the Demon King.

The two rose to the clouds. The One expelling the aura it possessed, white, and the Demon King with his red Aura, in guttural screams cutting through the air.

It was the Demon King's intention to lift both into space, to distance Sceadu Gestréon Ungemynd from any life again. However, even the Demon King did not possess infinite Aura, and he could not overcome the planet's gravity.

And the two fell, after crossing the ocean, upon the human capital, in the south of the Demon King's Continent.

Millions of humans became flesh and bones, and light and Aura, and this was assimilated by Sceadu Gestréon Ungemynd in its third form.

The One was now a giant over two thousand miles tall, no longer remembering anything human.

Its head was like bones and ramifications of arteries. From its back, what resembled wings and open veins in the air, which joined what was no longer an arm or leg, levitating above the mountains and hills.

Those who did not die ran for their own lives.

And the caravans that were heading toward the great cities of the south turned around and left, with many among the crowd having their bodies destroyed, rearranged into blood and light, making that creature grow even more.

When the Demon King rose from the crater where he stood, he saw an enemy two thousand miles tall.

The top of that One pierced through the clouds and reached space, observing the stars with a mind that could now read the thoughts of every creature on the entire planet.

And Sceadu Gestréon Ungemynd said to all who lived:

— I am the end of everything.

Upon hearing it, the Demon King leaped, and with a punch, pierced the creature's heart.

The giant's blood cut through the air and bathed the clouds and filled the ravines, and colored from the mountain ranges to the caverns, and the ocean turned red in the south, southeast, and southwest of the continent.

The creature broke in itself, in half, and plummeted like glass, deafening all who lived in the southern region.

At the center, the veins and arteries reconstructed themselves, in little more than four meters, condensing that existence into the supreme form of everything that magic had ever built.

The Demon King did not remain still, from among the clouds, he located the epicenter of the confluence of the enchantment, and delivered a knee strike so powerful that the world's magic trembled across the entire globe, but the defense of that thing repelled him.

And the Demon King was thrown into the ocean, he screamed in fury, and his red aura colored the sky like twilight. He rose to the clouds and descended, taking advantage of the curvature of the world, circling the planet.

And he prepared the most powerful punch in existence, striking the core of the One, which exploded along with the human kingdom.

Far from there, Leofwynn watched Neeth Hel Mess Oop Ah Ris Ta die mid-air, before being sucked into the dimension that cut the sky with fire.

The flames of Vulcana herself, sealing the Seals, ceased to exist, and she fell with him, unable to move her own body, exhausted.

However, Leofwynn received no Level alteration, remaining at Level 19. It was like killing a Level 1 monster, or worse, watching a Level 1 monster die without any explanation.

There was something wrong with that Tentacular, and Leofwynn concentrated, finding the true enemy, who had never left the depths of the Monster Continent, protected where it would never be reached, of course, never, unless the Demon King had split the Monster Continent in half, from the surface to the planet's core.

— It seems this is my end. — Neeth Hel Mess Oop Ah Ris Ta said to Leofwynn, through the mind. And Vulcana realized he was trapped under rocks, with fire melting him. — I planned everything, and yet, look at my end, pathetic.

— I'm sorry, Mr. Tentacles. — Leofwynn fell without the strength to continue, she had spent all her aura to defeat a creature that Neeth Hel Mess Oop Ah Ris Ta had built from algae and fish. In the end, the Tentacular was indeed a great liar.

— Sorry for what?

— For, at the moment of your death, you having no one else to talk to.

The Tentacular, for the first time, lamented its own existence, slowly consumed by the flames of the planet's core.

— If there is some other world. — these were the last words of Neeth Hel Mess Oop Ah Ris Ta. — I will find someone to share the next life with. — despair began to take hold of Neeth Hel Mess Oop Ah Ris Ta, trapped among the rocks in a slow death.

— If that place exists, wait for me, let's have fun together next time. — Leofwynn saw her own death approaching, and the enemy ceased to be an enemy.

Neeth Hel Mess Oop Ah Ris Ta, in a final impulse with what remained of his Aura, activated the monster that imitated his aspect, from his body emerged tentacles, and he wrapped Leofwynn in the air, holding her, gliding before she crashed to the ground.

He saved her, and she hugged him, the first hug of a lifetime.

The great eye shed a tear, and as they fell to the ground, just a few centimeters above the green grass, Neeth Hel Mess Oop Ah Ris Ta saw himself as a fool, that was the best moment of his life, and he would die in total regret if, already without a body, he did not hear:

— Thank you. — Leofwynn began to fall asleep, murmuring. — My unexpected friend. — the Tentacular's despair gave way to hope, and Neeth Hel Mess Oop Ah Ris Ta died in redemption.

However, Leofwynn suddenly opened her eyes, seeing the creature she had fought turn to ashes and be carried away by the wind.

Two absurd presences were approaching the Demon King's Castle.

Vulcana tried to stand, and fell, and fainted without any remaining strength.
