Inside, Kade had turned his attention back to the people before him.
"I will ask you one question," he said. "One of you hurt my son, Cooper. I want to know who did it."
Maya's head snapped up.
"Cooper? Cooper Cross?"
Luna stared at him in disbelief, while Richard's expression changed almost imperceptibly.
"Yes," Kade replied. "That Cooper. He is not Dakota's only child, nor is he simply Ethan Cross's son. Dakota was pregnant with twins when she gave birth. A boy and a girl. Cooper and Takoda are my children."
The revelation landed heavily in the room.
For several seconds, no one spoke. The Winters family had never known that Dakota had been pregnant whatsoever, and they had not expected Kade to reveal that the children were his, nor had they anticipated that Cooper's identity would become the reason for their detention.
Thomas glanced at his mother and sister before looking back at Kade.
