Chapter 1 - A Class of Rejects

The gates of Velnus High School stood tall as Elias stood in front of them, his sharp eyes locked onto the school grounds.

The iron bars were freshly painted, black and clean, without a single sign of rust. The compound beyond was wide, neat, and painfully ordinary with a green scenery and three story well built buildings on each side of the compound. Students walked in small groups, laughing loudly, with their backpacks slung lazily over their shoulders.

The gate creaked as it swung inward, and he made his way inside, his footsteps soundless against the tiled ground.

"A classroom of mysterious kids, huh…" he whispered as he walked through the corridor, recalling what the principal had told him earlier.

*****************

"It's a great honor to have a friend of Mr. Malik requesting to teach here."

The man who spoke looked to be in his late thirties. A few strands of white hair ran through his neatly combed black hair, and his glasses rested low on his nose. His handshake was soft, yet firm, polite, cautious, and professional.

'That is because this is the only school that fits the profile for what I want.' Elias thought to himself as he nodded and took the seat across from the principal without a word, his posture straight, his expression unreadable.

"Apparently there is only one class without a homeroom teacher," the principal continued, adjusting his glasses. "I wouldn't dare assign a class filled with such mischief to someone like you."

"Mischief?" Elias asked calmly, though a spark of interest flickered in his eyes.

"Yes. Class 3D." The principal hesitated before continuing. "A group of… unusual children. They've chased away four teachers already. Some of them were even rejected by their families."

"I will teach them." Elias said as he stood up from his seat.

The principal blinked. "Pardon?"

"A class that needs discipline is exactly what I need."

"I wouldn't advise that Mr Elias, but if it's what you want then I will comply." The principal said

"Thank you." Elias said and with a slight bow he left the principals office.

*****************

Elias stopped in front of a door that had Class 3D marked with a faded sign by the corner of the door.

He opened the door and the sound of a wire cutting was caught by his sharp ears. With a swift move he dodged to the side in the blink of an eye without looking up and caught the bucket of paint just before it landed on him.

"Too slow " He said with his cold voice, "it will take more than that to get to me."

The students looked at him in awe and some of the girls blushed while whispering about his charm.

Just an ordinary classroom or so he imagined…..

The sound of the school bell ringing brought Elias who has been standing in front of Class D back to reality.

He opened the door and walked into the class stunned, no trap, no trip wires, nothing

He stared at the Quiet Children that sat quietly on their seats, their backs were straight, their expressions as plain as day. They stared at him like they were piercing into his soul. They are not playing around or ignoring him, they did the complete opposite, they just sat there like they have been waiting for him to arrive.

'What's going on here, Are they not the school's reject, they are supposed to be mischievous, or are they still planning what to do?, but they are awfully quiet.' He thought to himself as he walked up to the front of the class and stood in front of the board, his cold eyes locked onto them.

" Good morning Class, from today onwards, I am your new home room teacher, Elias." He greeted with his usual stoic voice

In unison the whole class stood up and greeted. "Good morning Mr Elias."

Their chairs didn't screech and their movements were synchronized Perfectly.

Elias remained calm with his cold eyes locked on them,His face remained calm and emotionless,But inside, his instincts screamed.

He looked at them stunned but still keeping his stoic appearance ,'What's going on here? There are just Eight students, what kind of school has just eight students in a class?' He thought to himself, 'There is something definitely wrong with these children.'
