Chapter 1 - College: The First Day

The first day of college was very special for Rose.

She didn't know what to expect. Somewhere in her mind, she felt college might be boring. She thought she would make new friends easily, but things didn't turn out the way she imagined.

Rose was very simple and quiet. She was sitting in the classroom, observing everything around her. That's when a girl came up to her.

"Hi, I'm Ruby. Are you also in this class?"

"Hello, I'm Rose. Yes, today is my first day of college too," Rose replied.

Soon, the two started talking. Then the teacher entered the class, and everyone was asked to introduce themselves. The introductions went on, and the day slowly passed.

Rose kept looking around, hoping she would make more friends. But everyone wasn't like Ruby. Ruby was different—she went up to almost everyone and introduced herself confidently.

Somehow, six hours passed, and the classes finally ended.

Rose left for home with her cousins. Bella, her elder uncle's daughter, and Eva, her younger uncle's daughter, were with her. All three of them were traveling by bus.

Coincidentally, Ruby was on the same bus. And once she started talking, she didn't stop. Rose thought to herself, "She's so overactive," but at the same time, Ruby felt nice and friendly.

In the same bus, Bella and Eva were talking to their school friends. Rose noticed them but didn't say anything.

Soon, their stop arrived, and they went home.

That day, Rose felt something strange in her heart.

School life really was the best, she thought.

But tomorrow, I have to go to college again.
