Chapter 181 - 181-Breakthrough Progress

"Crawdaunt~"

"Crawdaunt~"

"Crawdaunt~"

By the coastline, Crawdaunt continuously swung its mighty pincers, striking the waves.

Even facing the fierce ocean swells, Crawdaunt showed no sign of retreating. Its pincers swung relentlessly, hammering down again and again.

Repeating this motion thousands upon thousands of times, finally at a certain moment, Crawdaunt suddenly leaped up. Facing the violent waves rushing toward it, it raised its right pincer hugh up. Invisible water currents gathered, and the massive claw struck down with tremendous force.

The overwhelming wave was cut in half, countless water droplets scattering in all directions and falling onto the beach.

Suddenly, at that moment, the aura surrounding Crawdaunt surged. Its level increased!

Having only recently broken through to level 40 and reached elite level, Crawdaunt had already advanced another level. Perhaps it was due to accumulated potential finally releasing.

But more importantly, it was the resource investment, soaking daily in the Wave Incense pool, consuming advanced and custom Pokéblocks, plus the green serums administered these past few days providing that extra push.

With all these factors combined, Crawdaunt's leveling speed was remarkably fast.

Just as Sieg was feeling pleased about this, more good news arrived in quick succession, Sharpedo had also broken through to elite level!

Facing this double blessing, Sieg remained relatively composed. For him, this news was both expected and reasonable.

Sharpedo's level had already been infinitely close to elite level, and it had been consuming the green serums these past days as well.

Team Rocket's serum was genuinely impressive. No wonder only those at captain rank or above had access to it. It really could accelerate a Pokémon's leveling speed, and most critically, the formula was mild with no adverse side effects whatsoever.

Sieg crouched on the beach, stroking Sharpedo in the shallow water, feeling its rough, bumpy scales.

"Need to change your Pokéblocks and regular diet." Sieg gazed at the distant waves, muttering to himself.

His first two Pokémon had finally reached elite level. At this tier, basic Pokéblocks were no longer suitable, their nutritional boosts would barely have any effect.

Pokémon at this level generally consumed advanced Pokéblocks. Creating that grade was still beyond Sieg's current capabilities, so he could only purchase them from the market.

If Pokéblocks wouldn't cut it, he'd have to work on their diet and supplements instead.

"Sharpedo's regular Pokéblocks will consist mainly of advanced Dark-type and Water-type ones purchased from the market."

"As for the custom Pokéblocks I make specifically for it, I need to adjust the formula. Need to add Wacan Berries, Passho Berries, Kebia Berries..."

Sieg sat in his tent writing furiously, comparing data sets. The Pokéblocks he created weren't primarily focused on boosting energy levels, but rather had various special effects.

For instance, increasing resistance to Fighting and Electric-type moves, making Sharpedo's body more robust, or sharpening Sharpedo's teeth.

If Crawdaunt's training involved intercepting waves daily and constantly hammering its pincers, then Sharpedo's training consisted of swimming in the ocean, moving against the current in turbulent waters to increase its mastery of the Speed Boost ability and control over Water-type energy.

Because of this, Sharpedo's daily exercise regimen was enormous, making training extremely demanding.

As Sieg's only ocean mount currently, Sharpedo carried great expectations. The hopes placed on it were extraordinarily high.

And Crawdaunt needed no explanation, as Sieg's first Pokémon and the absolute ace of his team, it was destined to be a crucial member on Sieg's path to power.

Sharpedo's breakthrough made quite a commotion, naturally attracting Rose and the twin brothers' attention.

Sieg keenly observed a hint of competitive spirit in their eyes.

That made sense. Originally everyone's strength was similar, all pushing to see whose second Pokémon would break through to elite level first. Whoever broke through first would undoubtedly gain the upper hand in this hidden rivalry.

Therefore, seeing Sieg's second Pokémon reach elite level seemed to stimulate the three. They stopped arguing over the Lapras incident and fully devoted themselves to training.

Within a few days, all three of their second Pokémon also broke through to elite level. The twins' were Gyarados and Golduck, while Rose's was naturally that Pidgeot from before.

However, Sieg found something odd, what about their supposed team leader "Mushin"? Did he really just abandon them here?

They hadn't seen any trace of him these past days, as if he'd simply vanished.

Sieg shook his head, dismissing these scattered thoughts, and continued focusing on his Pokémon's training.

The sun set in the west, crimson twilight dyeing the waves a golden hue. From a distance, it looked like the ocean had caught fire, resembling a sea of flames.

Honchkrow flew over the ocean surface. Facing the endless tide, Flying-type energy manifested around its body as it dove headfirst into the waves.

Using the infinite tides to temper its body, this unique training method truly produced extraordinary results. Of course, the disadvantage was that Rock and Ground-type Pokémon couldn't train this way.

They could moderately train their water resistance, but throwing them into the ocean like this would essentially kill them.

Watching Honchkrow's form disappear beneath the quiet ocean surface, Sieg felt no panic. As Honchkrow's trainer, he naturally knew exactly what it was capable of.

Sure enough, within seconds, on the distant horizon, a black figure skimmed across the water at low altitude.

Just as Honchkrow was about to reach the beach, it pulled up sharply into the sky. Honchkrow's entire body became enveloped in white light as several black feathers fell off.

"Caw caw~~"

Honchkrow's wounds and stamina instantly recovered. It folded its wings and descended to a nearby reef.

Roost, after using this move, the Pokémon would briefly enter a roosting state. In this state, the Pokémon would temporarily lose its Flying-type while rapidly recovering stamina and healing injuries.

The tide gradually calmed. Another day of training had ended.

Sieg contentedly dried Honchkrow's damp feathers, feeling somewhat pleased that Honchkrow had finally mastered its last egg move.

Beyond mastering moves, its level was rising rapidly. The residual Dusk Stone energy remaining in Honchkrow's body from evolution already caused fast progress, and now with Team Rocket's green serum added, it was truly improving by leaps and bounds daily, leveling at lightning speed.

As for whether this might create an unstable foundation, Sieg wasn't worried.

The Dusk Stone's residual energy was the purest possible. Even absorbing it all at once wouldn't cause any foundation issues.

Moreover, Honchkrow persisted in daily tidal body tempering using the ocean waves, having long since forged its foundation incredibly solid.
